When Harry Met Sally Movie Review
When Harry met Sally is one of the most romantic movies of all the times. This movie is a 1989 American romantic comedy film written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner. The two main characters of the movie Harry and Sally was played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. The story follows the title characters from the time they meet just before sharing a cross-country drive, through twelve years or so of chance encounters in New York City. During the beginning of the movie Harry and Sally finish their college at the University of Chicago and meet when both need someone to share a drive to New York City, where Sally is beginning journalism school and Harry is starting a career; at the time, Harry is dating a friend of Sally's, Amanda. During their trip to New York they discuss different ideas about relationships between men and women. Harry believes that men and women can never be friends because the sex part always gets in the way .Sally completely disagrees, claiming that men and women can be strictly friends without sex. During the heated argument Harry upsets Sally and they both decide to stay away from each other. They meet after many years and finally decide to become friends. Eventually they became really close as, they spend more time sharing intimate things with each other .One day when Sally become really sad Harry comes to her house to console her but they end up having sex. Not sure how to handle the situation, Harry and Sally grow apart. At Jesse and Marie's wedding they have a fight, but later, at a New Year's Eve party, Harry comes over to convey his love for her and tells Sally that he loves her. At the end alike in every romantic movie they get married and have a happy ending. I am a big fan of romantic movies because it makes people happy and want to try out feelings like love, happiness, sadness; affection etc. I really enjoyed watching When Harry met Sally all over again. As I have watched it long time before, it’s a classic romantic movie

    One of the most interesting aspects I found deals with the social penetration model. When they first meet to take the road trip they only knew each other through mutual friends so needless to say it was a little awkward at first but throughout the story they begin to come closer and closer together. Even though it took a while for Sally to open up she eventually showed a more open and emotional side to Harry which led them to sleep together for the first time. Before that happened most of the conversations were just small talk and Harry asking Sally about her sex life. I thought Harry to be physically attracted to her from the begging but as he states, “Girls and guys can’t be friends.” His theory has to do with physical attraction and the fact that all men will want to be sexually active or at least have it in the back of their mind if they are close acquaintances with an attractive female. From the beginning Sally’s self-monitoring was very high and she didn’t really tell Harry anything to personal. She was defensive and had a very straight forward personality. The main characters, Harry and Sally, are very good friends and have known each other a long time.
