Who or what inspires me.
•Who or what inspires you? Why?

Is there ever been person in my life that has inspired me to do something or just astonishes you with their achievements? For me there is my teacher ex Mr. Scott is the most self motivated person I know. No matter what comes in his way, he conquers it, then moves on to the next challenge. Throughout the year Mr. Scott talked about his life, about how he once worked on the family farm for less than minimum wage, to how he had side programming jobs paying him more than one-hundred dollars an hour. He always preached if you work hard, no matter what you do, you will succeed on doing it. Now Mr. Scott is not any normal man by far, he is a machine, he never stops. Since the beginning, he worked hard, starting off he work on his family farm 7 days a week more than 12 hours a day, most people now days don’t even know what is hard work is, but Mr. Scott lived though it. After that he went to college and got degree in accounting and computer programming, there are others but he didn’t tell us. After college he got an teaching job, well I shouldn’t say a teaching job, he got three teaching jobs, one as a math teach at sterling, then a programming teacher at Macomb community college, then after all of the he was a driver’s ed teacher. He is well over 50 now and is still going strong, he still has his teaching jobs, and he also still doing his side job programming, the one that is paying his over $100 an hour. What’s here is a motivated man, people at his age are planning to retire, he is planning for new jobs. As you had read my teacher Mr. Scott had accomplish many obstacles in his life and hasn’t thought about quitting yet. That’s way my ex teacher Mr. Scott’s influence’s me to do well like him and have people look up to him.

My dad grew up wanting to be a firefighter. Once he grew up, he decided to put that dream into action by actually becoming one. My dad had to work through the many physical and mental challenges and tests in order for him to make his dream come true. However, when he met my mom and they were instantly in love. After they got married, my mom spoke to my dad telling him that if they were going to have a family, my mom wouldn't want to have to worry about his safety, because being a firefighter is very dangerous and stressful on a family. So, my dad decided that being a dad was more important to him. Although it was still hard for him to know that his hard work to become a firefighter was all for nothing. Another example of when my dad had to persevere was when he had a seizure. My dad had 3 seizures and he told me that he felt as if he wasn't in control of his body. He said that knowing he didn’t have control was one of the scariest things he has experienced. He had to work through fears going through his head, but also physically. He had to go through many tests and recovery assignments that required him to persevere physically. Overall, my dad has worked very hard to get to where he is now and that is why he is a great example of showing what perseverance can…

In my life I have overcome obstacles and shown persistence as well. There was a time when my determination stuck out the most. It was the high school county cross country meet. As a freshman I ran junior varsity, and was excited to know I would be leading the race. Once the gun went off I was not surprised to see only the trail and the bike before me. The race was going well but in the second mile it took a turn for the worst. A coach from a rival team pointed me in the wrong direction, and I led the top runners with me. Once I realized what had happened and that I was no longer in first place, I felt defeated. Others around me collapsed and dropped out of the race. My persistence kept me going. Emotionally and physically drained from the extra mile, I finished in 50th place. But I did not give up and I made…

It was mostly teachers who inspired me to keep going, even though the situation at home kept getting tougher. Their words of wisdom and positive attitude towards me gave me motivation to aim for my goals. In particular, my English 2 teacher, Ms.Allbee, believed in me ever since she stepped into her new classroom. With the words of my senior AVID teacher and the compassion of Ms. Allbee, it made me realize I can be anything I wanted to be, despite of where I grew up and situations at home.…

People who've we've looked up to, or ways we ourselves have surpassed obstacles and succeeded. My personal example of grit, was the hard road I took, trying to learn English. I was young, the age of six, when I first came to America. I could speak broken English, with a very heavy Indian accent. It was hard, seeing as my mother was a literary fanatic. The idea that her daughter was having trouble with a language that she fell in love with overseas, was hard for her to bear. I could barely write, and being in a classroom with people who spoke it so often, it was tough. I was put into ESL, which was an English learning program, for people who spoke English as a second language. My teacher was a kindhearted woman, named Mrs. Armano. She and I worked, and little by little, I began to learn English. Everyday, she and I would converse and speak. In about one and a half years, I could speak English fluently. It was amazing, with my own hard work I was able learn English, a language that was so daunting. Despite the strange rules, and my difficulty with grammar, I was able to speak. Now, my vocabulary has expanded beyond what I ever thought possible. I myself, have demonstrated grit, a trait I didn’t know existed until a short while…

Motivation here and beyond is key to my overall success. I admittedly at times have felt mine drop to abysmal levels. What helps is considering those that have done more than I have, endured more than I have, and who continue to “soldier on” and succeed in their careers. I am not married, have no children, and no longer have my parents. The one person I think that inspires me is my twin sister, Serafina. I think about how hard she works to live on her own in New York, I think of all the struggles she has survived, and I consider her patience and love. She is my best friend, and probably the strongest person I…

One of my role models, as cheesy as it may sound is my dad. Out of anyone I’ve met, he is the most hard working person I know. My father was reared in a San Salvador, El Salvador, a country suffering from poverty and corruption. While growing up, he taught us that working hard for your ambitions can get you just about anywhere in life. At age fourteen, he left his home country to escape the dangers of war currently taking place in El Salvador. By the grace of God, my family was able to come to the United States. My family came with just the clothes on their backs, and not knowing a bit of English. After all his hard work and persistence, he was able to graduate high school. After he graduate, he attended college including MED school, and pursued his dream of starting his own practice in Chiropractic Medicine…
