There is great controversy regarding professional athletes and their salaries. People think that many athletes receive obscene salaries, but I think that they deserve that money. They work incredibly hard, they are part of the advancement of the human race, and they generate large sums of revenue for their organizations. I do not think that talented, well deserving athletes are overpaid.
Athletes put in years of hard work to develop their skills which earn them these large salaries. If professional athletes weren't exceptionally talented spectators wouldn't want to watch them compete. Spectators willingness to pay to see this level of talent lends to the high salaries they receive. Ticket prices usually reflect the level of talent on the playing field and spectators are willing to buy those tickets because they want to see quality.
