I am passionate about being a leader because I see leadership as the product of responsibility and experience. As a former student leader at high school, I believe the meaning of campus leadership is to provide high quality services for the students and the parents. Also, leaders need to exchange ideas from each other, so they can make the community a better place for students to live and study. I am always seeking for opportunities to help people and enrich my experience, and I believe I will make great contributions as a leader on MICA campus.…
Ms. Henrikson, Ms. Norris, and Ms. Gaynor inspire me in how they lead the groups and motivate students. They create enthusiasm learning environment, make things easy to understand and encourage students to make things happen. I admire them bringing out the best of the students inner abilities to learn and not hesitate to try. I want to be in the Sutter Leadership Class to learn and develop those skills that they…
I would like to take the opportunity to be a link crew leader because of how the Link Crew affected me as a freshman. Not only did they answer any questions we had, but also as a sophomore I still find myself referring back to my link leaders. The feeling of knowing someone around you when you are in a sea of strangers is not only a helpful resource but also reassuring. My freshman year I learned that the link leaders obtain some very special qualities. Link leaders are fun, outgoing, determined, and consistent people and I believe I also have these characteristics. I can use these qualities to hold myself responsible for caring and tending to the needs of those younger than myself.…
I continued to build on this by becoming a student ambassador, where I spend either 4 hours or even the entire night with a prospective student, showing them the campus and all of the glorious opportunities here. As a result of this personal growth, I was privileged to be selected as one of the inaugural shift leaders at Alumni Gym. I am now one of the point-men for any questions or concerns relating to the gym. By becoming an RA I hope to continue this personal growth, becoming more and more well-versed and meeting more and more people on Union’s campus. Additionally, I will be gaining critical skills that I believe will enable me to be successful in life particularly being a leader around students that are either my age or not much older or younger. I anticipate many issues, especially relating to having to be the smart person when my peers are being unintelligent and ensuring the safety of everyone else in my building and around campus. However, in order to grow, one must be faced with challenges, and it is how that individual confronts those challenges that determine how that individual will grow. The leadership opportunity that the RA position provides not only will provide me with immense growth, but will allow me to…
While I have been in FFA I have gained more leadership skills than I thought possible. I was president on my chapters opening and closing ceremonies team so I had to step up and be my fellow member’s leader. I had to make sure everyone was there for practice, we were always on topic, and that we were prepared for the contest. Before I joined FFA one of my greatest fears was public speaking, but I overcame that fear through a little hard work and determination and became our chapter’s creed speaker. Doing this career development event really helped me because I gained confidence in myself, leadership skills, and I even went on to place 5th in West Tennessee.…
A.S.B. was an amazing class for me last year and I hope to be in it again. I would represent my Junior class in a positive way. It would be fun helping get kids involved in school activities. I would love to help with the school dances and assemblies because I am very creative. I think students should feel like school is there home away from home. Getting them involved and picking them for activities would give them a much better outlook and a good attitude towards school. I love getting decked out for spirit days so I would encourage other people to dress up with me! Leading in an enthusiastic way I will do the tasks at hand and get the work done, while being an example to others. I have a natural ability to improvise and adapt to every situation. I’ve had much experience like working a summer job at my Dads chemical company. In the office I helped work the phones for customer service. I also helped organize the company’s promotional events. To accomplish goals you must always respect others, work hard and get the job done; that’s what I think A.S.B. is all about. I’m up for anything, and available for whatever I’m needed to do. My family completely supports me as a leader and encourages any and all involvement that I am called to do. I am very energetic and enthusiastic about things and have many ideas. Also I’m very artistic and love to draw. I think one of my strengths is my creative mind. Being kind of a perfectionist is probably one of my strengths and one of my weaknesses. Sometimes I want to take my time to make everything right. Some things I could bring to A.S.B. are a fresh outlook, hard work and mainly new ideas. Maybe we could do some kind of marathon that went on the whole night till the morning; I think kids would have so much fun and we could still raise money. Otherwise I think A.S.B. is a great program and that’s why I’m running and would love to be in it again. I loved it last year and am hoping to…
My name is Kaleigh Gonzales I’m a 15 year old sophomore and I’m running for the 2014-2015 officer position of reporter for Armwood High Schools FFA Chapter. I feel I should be selected for this position because not only am I a people person but I am also extremely organized. I think this would make me be able to effectively and efficiently get the Armwood FFA’s chapter name known to the public. I would also try to do this by doing any and all public service projects we can get our hands on, then publishing our successes. I believe that to make a difference you have to be known and respected by the community around you. In the past three years I have served as Vice President for Burnett Middle School for two terms and Treasurer for Armwood high school for one term. In this time I’ve competed many events including forestry, land judging, vet assisting, OCC, creed speaking, and extemporaneous public speaking. By doing this I’ve gained lots of experience and love in our great organization. I believe to be this year’s reporter I have to not only work on our clubs public media aspects but also work hard in competitions to win and better our chapters’ reputation. If I were to describe the technique in which I lead I would have to say that I plan , I tell others my plan , and then I depend on my team to help me. They tell me where they specialize in and what they want to do for me, and we work form there. I try to let people do what makes them happy while still helping me. I can make a personal promise that I will always work my hardest to make FFA my top priority, a position like this requires my full attention. My other activity I engage in is that I am a First sergeant of alpha company in JROTC, this means I am the second in command of one of three company’s in our schools only JROTC battalion. I promise that my responsibilities there will not interfere with my responsibilities regarding FFA. Some activities I want to do this year are competitions like OCC and…
My number one reason that I want to become a Residential leader is that I want to be a role model for incoming students and when I say a role model I mean I will be the person that sets good examples of school values, positive attitude, and outstanding behavior. This leads me to my other reason, which is that I want to build lasting connections with residents and watch them grow and learn. In addition, my last reason is that I want to interact more by getting involved in the school that I love.In fact, this experience will help me develop leadership skills that I can use all throughout college. It also will help me gain more knowledge bout the campus and the resources it offers. It will help me gain solid time management skills and help…
I can't describe how impacting camp had influence me as a leader and as a person in general. My first time going to OCL was my sophomore year, and it was also my first year in ASB. I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I joined ASB but I know I never regretted my decision joining ASB. The reason is because of ASB. The atmosphere at OCL and how welcoming everybody was there really got me excited about ASB. However, what influence me the most was the people. During camp I was able to connect and relate to so many different people. I am glad that I was able to meet them because I was dealing a lot of family problems. Being able to talk to them about my problem really helped me to overcome my problems. I can't thank the people I have met enough but also camp, because if it wasn't for camp I think I will be struggling handling all these problems in my life.…
With over 15 years in the Air Force, I have a good deal of management experience. I have served as supervisor for up to 20 people at one time, and have been in many different situations where I’ve had to call on my leadership training. I have had to deal with young adults’ financial problems, divorces, and even suicide attempts. I am passionate about what I do, and I genuinely enjoy watching people succeed. There is no greater feeling to me than to watch someone succeed, and to know I had a hand in their success. Being a noncommissioned officer in the Air Force has afforded me a number of opportunities to lead people, as well as attend some of the best leadership training in the world. Many private companies pay thousands of dollars to send their employees to get the training I have received in the Air Force, and I have seen the benefits ten times over.…
And for those who have the opportunity to serve as leaders in the clubs/societies/uniformed bodies, you get a chance to lead a group, be it big or small, and it is a good step ahead to learn your management skills, leadership skills, time management, ability to handle stress/risk, decision making, task delegation, carrying out meetings etc.…
During my high school studies I was elected the president of a student council. This allowed me to develop and use my leading and organizational skills and convinced me that I want to tie my future career with administration.…
All throughout school I have always been comfortable stepping up and becoming the “leader” of the group. Mainly because I don’t want us to fail and unfortunately most people are a little shy or bashful with speaking up. I enjoy helping people become engaged with the group and feel comfortable using their strengths to benefit the group. I’ve noticed that like minded people seem to choose me as a mentor because they always want to be successful.…
Moreover, student organizations provide a great opportunity for students to enhance and to develop their leadership skills. Joining a student organization gives you also an opportunity to expand your over all educational experience, whether it’s a student organization of a specific field of study, or an international student organization, it will often improved your social life, gain self confidence, acquire leadership skills at it will also teach you how to function as a member of a group or a team of the organization. Although there are many different reasons to join a student organization the two main reasons for students to get involved in of the many organizations is to learn new skills that are beneficial in any job setting and to make many new friends who are also a member of the organization.…
I would like to become an ambassador because I want more confidence and want to meet new people and be a leader to others. Being a Student Ambassador means that you will represent the school at different events. I really enjoy coming to school and love coming here every day, and it would be nice to be a part of something that I love. I like participating in charity events and extra-curricular activities. What makes it good is the ability to listen to the needs and desires of others, to organize forums about issues and to become role models to other students. I am very friendly, nice, outgoing and easy to get along with. I am also very responsible I will get to my meetings on time. I could make the students feel as if they are at home. I would make them think twice about leaving the program and if they need any help I can show them to come to me or to an instructor and not be scared. On my first day of school here I was nervous and scared but a ambassador helped me and made me feel comfortable she helped me with any questions I had. After a few days I started getting the hang of the program and she showed and encouraged me to want to become an ambassador. I love the program that I am in, it’s very interesting and my teachers are really nice and they help me with anything that I need help on. Im happy that I chose this program. The reason I chose this program is because it fit my interest the best. I like to be busy, being around a friendly atmosphere, greeting everyone, and giving all the help I can. Same applies to when I’m in class I’m focused and ready to begin working getting my class work done and assisting anyone who needs help. I find it very easy to encourage people as it…
