Why I Became A Camp Leader

I can't describe how impacting camp had influence me as a leader and as a person in general. My first time going to OCL was my sophomore year, and it was also my first year in ASB. I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I joined ASB but I know I never regretted my decision joining ASB. The reason is because of ASB. The atmosphere at OCL and how welcoming everybody was there really got me excited about ASB. However, what influence me the most was the people. During camp I was able to connect and relate to so many different people. I am glad that I was able to meet them because I was dealing a lot of family problems. Being able to talk to them about my problem really helped me to overcome my problems. I can't thank the people I have met enough but also camp, because if it wasn't for camp I think I will be struggling handling all these problems in my life.
Despite the whole thing of making camp a good experience, my main priority is to make camp where we have everybody open to each other. I want those who are still hiding in their turtle shell, to leave that shell and begin exploring. I want camp to where we can bring life to those who are struggling life. I want camp to be a place where you are alone that they will feel welcome and love so that they can meet new people who will help them and make them feel worth it. My main purpose of why I want to be camp counselor is for that main purpose, I want camp to be an experience where we can change someone's life that when they look back, they can say OCL have impacted my life so much that I am grateful for the
