Why Did The Civil War Start

However, here's four main reasons why the civil war started. One of them was “The Election Of 1860” there was 4 candidates lincoln, douglas, breckinridge, and john bell. Abraham lincoln won the election, the south thought that lincoln was anti-slavery. The south was heated, and they were mad at the north.
Another reason why the civil war started was “The Dred Scott Decision”. The people up north were frustrated because a slave from missouri owner took him to the north of the missouri compromise line in 1834. Then the people in the north had decided not to allow slavery in their states.
