In the modern world, we have borrowed many things from the Greek and Roman cultures. From the smallest things to the biggest things that influence us most, the United States of America has many systems and arts the have come from Greek and Roman cultures. For example, politics, art, writing, architecture, and others.
One of the things we borrowed from Rome was our legal systems. Out modern legal systems in the U.S. are based on the ancient principles of Roman law. This is where the Republic originated. From Greece, we obtained the democracy. We use the Republic instead of the direct democracy because it would be hard to handle seeing as we are a large country. The three branches of government were also taken from the Greeks.
Art is a huge part of world history. Ancient Rome and Greece have greatly influenced America along with the rest of the world. The Romans have made bas-relief statues, mosaics, and frescoes which we use in the U.S. The Greeks have created many different types of art including the ideal body, theatre, carpetmaking, and water colours. Theatre becoming more popular proves the success of the Greeks influence on us.

The Romans created the arch, domes, concrete, and aqueducts. The U.S. uses most of these inventions. We don't use aqueducts anymore but they helped shape the design for our plumbing. Greece gave us pillars, light houses, and the use of marble. We use these things everyday, all the time. A famous event each year, for America, is the Olympics which we took from the Greeks, along with other sports that we play. The Romans gave us the Romance languages that we know today as French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian. America uses a lot of these languages because we are a mix of many different
