by the 2nd amendment, it also takes away the right for people to protect themselves, and it is not the guns that are killing people it is people killing people.
The 2nd amendment clearly gives people the right to bear arms which entitles any citizen to be able to do so. With that being stated I do not think that the government has the right to take that away. In the article "Should the government restrict access to assault weapons?" The author states "banning assault weapons would violate the Second Amendment". This is one of the main arguments that people against gun control are able to put out because they feel that it does indeed, violet the 2nd amendment. If the U.S government made and passed these gun control laws it would go against the 2nd amendment. In the article "Does the United States need gun control reform?" The author quotes the second amendment writing '"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms"'. This is the direct correlation to the 2nd amendment that states that we as the people have the right to bear and keep arms. The government cant just disregard the 2nd amendment they must follow the rules like the rest of us. In the article "Does the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantee an individual right to bear arms?" The author says "The Heller decision established for the first time that the 2nd Amendment outlines an individual's right to bear arms.". This is the author proving that the second amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This is an evident example that the 2nd amendment gives people the right to bear and keep arms. These examples show that the second amendment gives people the right to keep and bear arms.
Implementing gun control laws would also take away the peoples ability to protect themselves.
