The second Amendment was put into place on December 15. 1971, and it reads “The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This right was given to us so long ago, and now it is trying to be taken away from the Americans of the United States of America. The American Government has tried to limit pistol usage and the use of high powered rifles in America. In our country today many people want to feel safe and know that they are protected, but do you really think you are safe? An a individual that is robbing someone or hurting somebody does not care about gun laws! The government should not harass the normal civilian that has one gun in his household. The government should be catching the criminals that are using the weapons
If you are not familiar with the whole Sandy Hook ordeal. It was a school shooting that happened in Connecticut were 20 children were killed by a gunman. Many blame the death of those children on the assault rifle which was used. The gun was not what killed them children, it was a man that was not right in the head. After Sandy Hook there have been plenty other school shootings at high schools, colleges, and all schools. This has become a big issue in schools now sometimes it's due to bullying, or it could be anything that could trigger the want to kill someone. If you ban guns you are not going to stop those individuals, because their is hunting rifles that could be used for killing people. Most hunting rifles are never even registered, just due to being traded from somebody to somebody else. So if you ban the ability to own an assault rifle, you are not going to solve the
Most parents that own a firearm and have children, keep their guns locked up in a safe away from their children. There have been reports of kids that acquired their parents firearms and then continued to kill themselves. I know how blunt that sounds, but it has happened. A big issue is a kid might get bullied to the point where he or she will take their life, or they will go take another's life. It is the parents fault if the child is able to obtain their firearm. If the government was to take away assault rifles, would it really hurt the american people? The only gun I think should be limited is assault rifles, there is no reason for a person to own an assault rifle. They have no purpose to them. They are not used for hunting and people surely do not carry them around with them everywhere they go.
People need to know about gun control in America and how clustered our government is about trying to fix the problem. Some people sit around bickering how all weapons are bad and that all weapons should be taken away. Those people do not understand all the consequences that would occur if weapons were taken away from the American people. You would have population increase in wildlife and people rioting. So I think the federal government should focus on the regulations of assault rifles before they focus on anything
