Why I Chose College
College is not a place for someone like me at least this is what I told those who were trying to persuade me into considering college. I was a mere high school student at the time where thoughts about the future were not a primary focus. I was one of the crowds who envisioned the future to be full of games and omitted any and all responsibilities. I was not focused in school nor did I even try to put effort into my grades. I eventually dropped out of high school. Needless to say, I was unable to find a decent job. As years passed by, I started thinking to myself, “what is my goal in life”? I said to myself that I must strive for the best in order to become successful. My first step is to obtain my General Education Diploma (GED). College is a place where one matures and became acquainted with real world situations. In addition, with a college degree I will be at an advantage when applying for employment. Nevertheless, college will allow me to broaden my horizons. For instance, I will be acquainted with others from different cultural backgrounds, and learn how to interact with people from different ethnic
