Why I Want To Attend College
College, one of the most crucial times in a young person’s life, is one of the biggest goals that I have in my life. Of course, there are other things, such as opening my own sport’s Physical Therapy Center, or becoming a doctor of Physical Therapy. But, attending college and being successful in it is one of my top goals. I want to go to college, and graduate because it would make me the first person in my family to graduate college since my mother. I have had three siblings go to college, all to drop out, and I will not let my family down by also dropping out. I will make them proud of whom I am and who I will become, and this will be made possible by graduating college. Attending college with a large scholarship is another thing; I don’t want to make my parents have to pay thousands of dollars for my education, no matter how important and necessary the education is. I want my parents to not have to worry about paying for my tuition. I want to be a college graduate. I have many goals, as I talked about in the last paragraph, but my ultimate goal …show more content…
I lead a group of kids that are different from everyone else, a group that doesn’t think it’s “cool” to go out and get drunk on the weekends. By leading this group and being on the forefront of many projects to stop teen drinking I have been criticized for not going with the “norm.” But standing up for what I believe in and what the law is is more important than just conforming. I am also the president of Spanish Honor Society (S.H.S.) and a member of National Honor Society (N.H.S.). These groups are for the prestigious students who are known to be the leaders of our school. I am proud to say that younger generation looks up to myself and these groups. We set the standard for underclassmen, and give them goals to strive

I have always been the type of person who has a tremendous amount of desire to achieve. I want to be somebody. I want to make a difference in my community. As a result I set four major goals for myself during my junior year in high school. The first of these goals is completing my high school education with at least a 3.0 grade point average or above. The second goal is to obtain a college education. The third goal is to start a lasting career for myself as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. The last goal is to raise a family in the best possible atmosphere.…

Going to college has always been a goal to myself. Personally, it means more than expecting to get a good job with a high earning potential. It means the opportunity to develop myself as a person and become a valued member of society. It means, that as the oldest brother and first generation in my family with the possibility to attend college, setting an example for my younger siblings about how to shape your own path and break that mindset of “do what you have to do” and replacing it with one which says, “do something that makes you happy.”…

Having grown up in a single parent home with two sisters who did not complete high school, made the pressure for me to succeed unimaginable. The constant reminder of achieving greatness has stuck with me since I was eight years old. Throughout middle school I was top of my class, in high school I graduated cum laude with a 4.4 GPA and currently in my 1st year of college I am top of my intermediate/college algebra class, I scored the highest grade out of all 5 of my psychology teachers classes, and I have an A in my Philosophy class. My educational goals consist of gaining knowledge throughout my entire life, achieving higher than my goals, being as involved as I can possibly be with my college/ community, and continuing to prosper. Ever since…

Throughout high school, I had always envisioned myself in attending Texas A&M. There are still some extra steps I need to take but I know what my goals are and I’m going to do whatever it takes to achieve them. I know it’s not going to be simple but not impossible. My parents came to this country to work hard and better their lives for my brothers and me. My dad works too hard seven days a week and I look at how tired he is all the time. I want to be able to go to school, pursue my dreams, obtain my dream job and help other people. I want my parents to see that them working so hard and coming to America and leaving their entire family was worth it. I want to witness the happiness in my dads face when I walk across that stage at Texas A&M.…

It’s easy to make a goal rather than to achieve it. However, with determination one can succeed in accomplishing it. I have accomplished one of many goals in my list and that's to attend college. In my family not a lot attended college or even finished high school, so accomplishing this goal is a big subject of matter to my family.Getting this far is even a big accomplishment in my eye’s, especially when you break free from an assembly line of generations that never had attended college. The feeling is still overwhelming, mainly because I’m the first of many generations in my family to accomplish something big like…

Consistently, seniors have told me that they cannot participate due to other activities or they are simply too busy. One of the biggest learning curves of my senior year has been telling my peers to succeed beyond the time constraints they feel. Many of them view graduation as their final goal and simply give up on their school and community. Most of this involvement is through the responsibilities of president such as delegating tasks and ensuring that the projects are completed. Yet, the biggest impacts have been from talking to students who feel discouraged by the hardships they face. Through National Honor Society I can inspire seniors to maintain involvement and encourage as sense of community within our school. From the smallest contributions to uttermost devotion I am proud of the seniors who attempt to try everyday and be there for their…
