Why I Chose College

Since I was young, college was the main goal. I knew that college was the necessary step I had to achieve if I ever wanted to become successful in life. Now coming in as a junior in college I’ve learned way more then I had anticipated before I started. Not only have I learned about new things in my environment and what is happening in the world but I have learned about myself and what I want in life. College has given me the opportunity to experience new things, have more opportunities, experience new people and personalities, and focus on how to become the best person I can possibly be. Trying to maintain a 3.5 GPA and making sure I’m on the right path to what career I want to pursue can be difficult at times but I understand that if I ever
want to be something it takes discipline and hard work not only academically but mentally. You have to sacrifice things in life to get to the destination you desire.
It is in my knowledge that college is not only a luxury, it’s a privilege. Not everybody gets to have this experience, whether it’s a choice or they are not financially stable. I feel I deserve this scholarship because I want to continue my journey in college for the next two years not having to overly stress about paying my loans when I graduate. In these next two years I know I’m going to maintain a high GPA and do what is necessary for my future and having extra financial help would benefit me in many ways. Having a hard working mother and father has been a blessing and they didn’t get to have the opportunities that I have and I want to make them proud and prove that I can achieve what they couldn’t at my age. Not only would being awarded this scholarship benefit and take some stress off of me but definitely take some stress off of them as well.
