Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist When junior year came around, I knew that I needed to start to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. So as any teenager would do, I turned to my mother. Being in the health field, I knew that she would have an input on a lot of the jobs and what the best one for me would be. After debating for hours on pay and schooling, we came to the conclusion of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist. Today, a Nurse Anesthetist can be expected to work in the same areas as most Anesthesiologists. Assessing a patient pre-operation, preparing the patient for anesthesia, administering the anesthesia, and to oversee recovery and post-operation needs is what is expected from a Nurse Anesthetist. …show more content…
The answer to this is, that going to school for over half my life, twelve years, is not something that I want to do. Having another job under the same subject that I would like to pursue, but has about half the schooling, seven years, and does mostly the same procedures, is a sign that it was meant for me. With about half the amount of school, the thought would be that pay would be minimal. The national average for income of one person in 2014 is about $45,000, while a Nurse Anesthetist can make any where around $130,000. Well about the national average.
