I would like to research about a nurse practitioner and a baker. While both careers require extensive knowledge about their field, they differ in their job outlook, salary, and their work environment. Being able to do tasks and recognize things are a skill I must learn in order to become a nurse practitioner and a baker. Bakers would usually check their baking ingredients in order to make a professional piece of pastries. They would also observe each piece of pastries …show more content…
A nurse practitioner and a baker has their own duties they must complete each and everyday, in order to help them succeed. The most important duties a nurse practitioner must do are, observing their patients and do what a physician would do and the most important duties a baker must do are weighing and measuring ingredients in order to make their pieces turn out good
(“Bakers”). Because both careers need experience, I believe becoming a nurse practitioner would be a wiser choice for me.
While gaining knowledge and experiences on both careers, their job outlook is important for me to know if the job is good or not. However, both of my careers are opposite from one another. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, “There will be little to no change in the job outlook for bakers,” (Machajewski 97). This means that the amount of people applying for this job is going to decrease or stay the same in the future. From 2014 to
2024, the bakers are projected to decrease in food manufacturing (“Bakers”). On the other hand, nurse practitioners is slowly increasing as years pass. Nurse practitioner is projected to increase by 31% and by 2024, the number of people applying for this job …show more content…
Next, I must consider the salary for both careers. Depending where I work at, my salary may vary. The median pay for a baker in the bakeries and tortillas manufacturing company is about $24,270 per year. The median wage in groceries store is about $24,030 and in restaurants and other eating places, it is about $23,250 per year (“Bakers”).
Whereas a nurse practitioner, you will get paid more. Nurse practitioner that works in the hospital will get paid more because there are a lot of patients there. Their median wage is
$111,080 a year and if they work at any physican office, they get paid about $104,150 per year. The median wage in working at outpatient care center is about $102,810 per year. and working at any educational services, your median pay is about $95,720 (“Nurse
Practitioner Summary”). Altogether, this is the difference between both career work salaries.
Since the work salary can help me with my life, I have to consider the work environment as well. Nurse practitioners work at a very clean and sanitized place, while bakers work at a humid place. Nurse practitioners work in a variety of different places and they can even work for, far away places from where they work at when
