Why I Want To Go To RGS?
Why do I want to go to RGS? There are a lot of reasons why I want to go to RGS. RGS is a great summer camp that I enjoyed spending my time at last year. This year I’m hoping it’ll be even better, and give me more of a challenge.
I want to go to RGS because I love science! It has been my favorite since I was in elementary school. And it doesn’t hurt that comes easily to me. Science excites me. Doing science experiments is a fun hobby of mine. Thinking of what I might discover during the process overflows me with joy. While the science that we learn in core classes is great I have recently taken an interest in technology.Learning how things work is amazing to me. I mean just thinking about how much a computer has to process to do something that we think is simple is amazing to me. Another reason that I’d like to attend is that I want to explore all of the topics science has to offer. I aspire to be a doctor one day, but before I buckle down on medicine one day I want to learn everything about science. I believe that this camp is going to be great experience for me. Getting involved a STEM camp, especially ones that highlight different subjects like forensics, is a great way for me to learn them. I believe that this opportunity will make me even more obsessed with science than I already am. The more I get involved with science,

I have always liked being above average because above average is special, and that is what i want to be, special. And this camp can help give me that. While I have been going through Post Concussion Syndrome I still want to be at the same level as everyone else. I’ve had to put in more work than others, even through this I’ve managed to maintain my prestigious my grades. I understand that this is a vigorous program, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love a good challenge, even those that seem out of reach. I know that this is the right program for

The teachers and the labs there catalyzed my fascination with chemistry, and I wanted to give back by sharing the experiences I had with others. Though, I was immediately rejected by Ben’s disgust with DNA, I eventually sparked an interest for chemistry in him and my other little scientists. By the end of the camp, they had actually researched, on their own time, how certain chemicals affect the body, and they told me some things I didn’t even know! That’s when I realized that my actions sparked their sudden fascination with chemistry, and more importantly their excitement to…

In school, I have enjoyed learning sciences especially when the topics are related to human conditions. Ever since learning about general biology in my junior high school years ago, I have on my own taken additional anthropology, psychology, anatomy and chemistry classes from a local college for further enrichment and have grown very fond of learning the complexity in human machinery and interaction. Occasionally I do find learning these topics too weighty to continue. Whenever that happens now, I would always manage to pull through by remembering that particular good day where I acted as 'an orthopedic doctor'.…

I was introduced to the field I am interested in from my 9th grade biology class. Prior to the course, I had never taken biology or any science, for that matter, that had captured my attention such as this year-long experience. I was intrigued by the subject and fascinated with all the advances in society that have been made by scientists throughout the years. The possibility of being able to do this in the future kept me engaged and I further pursued this interest by currently taking AP Biology. In addition, I was inspired by the change that scientists can make through research and…

When I joined the Bridgewater-Raritan program in August, I did not know what to expect. I knew that band was going to be hard work and a lot different than middle school. Personally, I think I have gotten more out of being a part of the program than I did in middle school, both with my skills and life lessons. I remember one of my first days when Mr. Markiewicz said that we would build an unbreakable relationship with our instrument. I have to admit that when he said that I giggled a little and said “yeah right” to myself. I hate to say it, but Mr. Markiewicz, you were right. I have grown to love practicing; I can feel my fingers responding faster, my air intensity increasing, and my mind becoming more alert whenever I pick up my clarinet. I can look back and see how much I have improved since the last note I played as an eighth grader, and I smile a little bit, knowing that this is only the beginning of my development in music.…

Throughout the open house I was tremendously excited to be in attendance. While there, my father and I had the opportunity to meet the head leader for Animal Science. Her name was Ms. Kishaa James and she was one of the sweetest lady that I had met. She informed me of a program called the research apprentice program, RAP for short. I learned that the program was for rising juniors and seniors who were interested in anything to do with agriculture. The program would take place on the campus of North Carolina A& T in Greensboro for four weeks. After I learned everything about the program; and I was aware of the requirements, I decided to get a head start.…

Science is experienced in many of our everyday lives, whether it is at school, work, or even in our own homes. Many times we don’t even notice when we apply it, but we work with science everyday in small ways, or even in big ways. At this age we don't find much importance on what science has to bring to us but as we grow older we will realize that it will play a much bigger role in our lives than what we can imagine right now. There are always times when we get asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” At a younger age we would say a popstar or ballerina, as we leaned in towards our teen years we aspired for something higher like a doctor or a lawyer , and once we got to highschool where things started to get real we really didn’t know…

My love and commitment for science can be seen through my A level choices. I chose Biology, Chemistry and Physics as I knew they would provide me the platform I needed to study Biomedical science at university. My subjects taught me perseverance and adapting a creative approach to solving problems, which is essential in the field. An example is drug testing, athletes may take synthetic testosterone to increase muscle mass and strength. A T/E ratio test is done on a urine sample.…
