Research courses have immersed me in these sorts of situations, making me believe that I have the foundations of problem-solving needed in research.
Perseverance is not a term that I take lightly as it has always been a very important value in my family. I know that I have always been a person who does not give up easily in the face of difficulty or failure. I have played the piano for 16 years of my life and been teaching it for seven of those years. Faced with lengthy practice and music exams, it taught me patience, perseverance, the fact that not everything comes easily, and that repeatedly working on a skill or technique eventually leads to success. I think this is a trait that carries across all aspects of life and that it equips me with some of the proper traits needed for graduate work.

Newman, and while these lessons and workshops are very helpful and enhance my written skills, I know I still have much to learn. Indeed, one of the most important ways of learning to communicate effectively is not just through courses, it is having others listen to your work and learning from their comments and criticism. I always welcome others to read my work and thoroughly appreciate assignments that are peer-reviewed, as this can provide very insightful advice and criticism.
Communication is a skill that is constantly improving with experience and age and I find it very exciting that the IBIO graduate studies program offers an entire course in the subject. I hope that my skills improve more and more as I undertake research.
Judging one’s own skills is a very challenging thing to do, and I would invite anyone who is curious to try to objectively explore their abilities. I have provided these arguments to the best of my ability and I hope it elucidates some information, not only of my abilities but also of my way of thinking.
