For instance, fulfilling a placement at an NHS pharmacy which included handling NHS patients’ surveys, categorising medicines for the pharmacist and organising medicines for dispense to patients to collect. This gave me the chance to interact with a range of patients and members of staff. It was a privilege to work in environments in which I could help people and also learn how certain medications work, analysing their strength, weaknesses and current research regarding the development of new drugs.
Furthermore, I spent a day with young children and infants at a primary school, the visit was conducted under the auspices of my extended project which provided me with a chance to engage with them and build a relationship based on trust. I learnt the great importantance of being extra responsible in terms of safeguarding them.
