Why I Would Be An Asset To National Honor Society
I believe that I would be an asset to National Honor Society. I believe this because of my active involvement and love for Ursuline Academy. When I came to Ursuline I wanted to branch out and open myself up to as many opportunities as possible. I believe that over my past three years I have done this to an outstanding degree. I believe that I should be chosen for NHS because of my outstanding leadership, organizational, and committed drive to Ursuline Academy.
I believe that my character has been shown through the activities in which I participate, the classes I take, and my organizational skills. One of my strengths is that even though I an involved in a lot I still give 110% to everything I do. I do tend to keep busy but if there is some

Before I was a more reserved and quiet leader, but now I have grown into the person I am today. I am not afraid to take on more substantial leadership roles. Through my work with SADD Club, the Ambassador Program, and especially the Diversity Team I have opened up to those leadership roles. I have shown the moderators of these clubs that not only am I responsible, punctual, and organized, but I am also willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I am always prepared and more than happy to help others. . Through my speaking roles in the High School Nights, at SADD Club meetings, and the Diversity Conference and special days for each grade, I have been able to influence others in a positive way. I never thought in grade school that I would be able open myself up and take on these amazing roles. I strongly believe that if you put your mind to somethings, then you can really accomplish …show more content…
My freshman year I participated in the freshman service retreat and went to Whole Kids Outreach in Ellington Missouri. There I learned a lot about myself such as my passion for working with children. Little did I know a few months after this trip I would have a job that is all about working with children. I also learned that people need help right here, and that you can make a difference without traveling across the world. However, the most memorable service experience for me was Junior Service. I was inspired but a fellow sister of mine, Sam Able. While speaking for Ursuline Academy’s High School Night last year and decided that I was going to do my Junior Service where she did hers, at the St. Louis Dream Center. Their mission is to ensure that all people have the opportunity to know God, find freedom, discover their purpose and ultimately make a difference. I was totally engulfed by the love and the support of this community from day one. I got to help out in the kitchen, clothing boutique, food pantry, and I even got to assist ladies at the nursing home during their Bible Study. I learned through this incredible experience that even though I have a knack working with children, I also have a gift for working with adults. Through all the unbelievable service experiences that I have had, I have doubled my service hours. A few weeks ago I was asking my advisor, Dr. Cochran, how many more

Service is one pillar of the national honors society that I believe a lot in. I believe that service presents so many opportunities and is such a meaningful way for one to spend their time. During my years at Barrington High School thus far, I have participated in many service projects including packing school supplies for children in foster care, collecting money at ALS tag days, and working with children with disabilities in a horseback riding rehabilitation program. Every week I was excited to see the progress of the children I worked with as they grew through horseback riding, and I am proud to say I played a part in…

Last year, part of the group and I went to a leadership conference. The leadership conference also helped me look a leadership in a different way. The speakers taught me what it takes to be a great leader. During the conference I learned that every leader has six characteristics and they are resilience, flexibility, communication, courage, humility and presence, and responsibility. I feel that I have almost all of those characteristics and that if the National Honor Society makes these characteristics its main focus, we can accomplish anything we face. If I were accepted into National Honor Society, I would try my best to be one of the best leaders in our school because we need great leaders. Also, I would pour my heart and soul into this group because I care for everyone in the school, and whenever I see anyone struggling, I try my best to help that person and that situation, without causing even more problems for that person. In addition, I would put the other student’s needs in front of my own because that was great leaders do. I would try my best to get involved with my community and the people in it. I would try to start service projects to further our…

I would be highly honored if I were to be accepted into NHS. When I heard of National Honor Society I knew right away that I wanted to become a part of it. Ever since I was a young child, I remember seeing my friends and family members proudly receive awards and recognitions for their hard work because of this, I too wanted to be like them. I am a very hard-working student and I love to gain knowledge of new things every day, and even though neither of my parents had the privilege to receive an education, I hope to go to college. Most of my family members from my father's side of the family either dropped out or weren’t able to finish school, so I will be the first to finish high school and to attend college.…
