I believe that my character has been shown through the activities in which I participate, the classes I take, and my organizational skills. Before I was a more reserved and quiet leader, but now I have grown into the person I am today. I am not afraid to take on more substantial leadership roles. Through my work with SADD Club, the Ambassador Program, and especially the Diversity Team I have opened up to those leadership roles. I have shown the moderators of these clubs that not only am I responsible, punctual, and organized, but I am also willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I am always prepared and more than happy to help others. . Through my speaking roles in the High School Nights, at SADD Club meetings, and the Diversity Conference and special days for each grade, I have been able to influence others in a positive way. My freshman year I participated in the freshman service retreat and went to Whole Kids Outreach in Ellington Missouri. There I learned a lot about myself such as my passion for working with children. Little did I know a few months after this trip I would have a job that is all about working with children. I also learned that people need help right here, and that you can make a difference without traveling across the world. However, the most memorable service experience for me was Junior Service. I was inspired but a fellow sister of mine, Sam Able. While speaking for Ursuline Academy’s High School Night last year and decided that I was going to do my Junior Service where she did hers, at the St. Louis Dream Center. Their mission is to ensure that all people have the opportunity to know God, find freedom, discover their purpose and ultimately make a difference. I was totally engulfed by the love and the support of this community from day one. I got to help out in the kitchen, clothing boutique, food pantry, and I even got to assist ladies at the nursing home during their Bible Study. I learned through this incredible experience that even though I have a knack working with children, I also have a gift for working with adults. Through all the unbelievable service experiences that I have had, I have doubled my service hours. A few weeks ago I was asking my advisor, Dr. Cochran, how many more
