Why Is Baseball Important
As every kid knows in school, there is a class called Physical Education (PE). There are several types of games a PE teacher will include throughout the year, but I would recommend having baseball as part of PE. To some people, baseball is the most important part of their life, but to others it is just another sport played for entertainment. Moreover, baseball is one of the most coveted sports in America. I feel PE should add this activity as it allows students the opportunity to experience the game of baseball, which is known as "America's pastime". Baseball is a part of American history; therefore, baseball should have a presence in PE to enhance the academic process. We all know baseball is a game of excitement and spending time with friends. PE should add baseball because Babe Ruth once said, "Baseball was, is, and always will be to me the best game in the world." Furthermore, baseball also helps build strength and cardiovascular endurance. It is a fact that when running around the bases it improves cardiovascular health and develops leg muscles. Being on a baseball team teaches the participants how to cooperate with various people. Baseball helps people work together with others they might not like which can potentially help them in the future. Baseball is a thrilling sport to play with friends. Being on a team allows kids the opportunity to encourage and support one another, and enables kids to have longer relationships with each other. Having friends on the baseball team gives you the ability to live longer. The reason for a longer life is by reducing stress and having a time of enjoyment with friends. Everyone smiles when they are having an upbeat time at baseball games. We know this fact is true because a study from London University College stated happy, cheerful people are 35% more likely to live

Baseball is known as America’s greatest pastime, but that does not mean that the sport is dying out. The sport of baseball teaches us much more than just the rules of a game; the game teaches lessons of life. If it weren’t for baseball, I wouldn’t be nearly as prepared for adversity as I am today. Life lessons have been deeply embedded in this sport for decades, and fortunately, I have had the opportunity to learn a large amount of these lessons. America’s pastime intrigues me because as long as I play, I will never stop learning from the game. People who have been involved in baseball their whole lives still learn new things from the game each year. I believe that every parent should register their sons in baseball for the array of benefits the game provides.…

or many years, athletics have improved junior’s well-beings and their schooling, but some academies have been thinking of getting rid of these programs all together. The two articles mentioned that school should keep or get rid of sports. One is written by Amanda Ripley while the other Tim O’Shei. Both have good arguments yet Tim’s article provides more positive undertones and uses of sports. Therefore physical education should stay in schools because It helps improve children’s grades and health, equal opportunities are given to students that didn’t exercise before, AND athletic careers can open for people who play competitive games early in their lives.…

The team atmosphere is the most important part of the game, teaching me how to communicate effectively and how to be selfless. Learning to sit back in the box and wait for that perfect pitch taught me patience. Standing in there and taking a fastball off of the elbow taught me that pain is only temporary. Working through a hitting slump taught me mental toughness and that hard work will eventually pay off. Not losing my temper after the umpire calls me out on a terrible third strike taught me respect and composure. These are only some of the little things in baseball that will leave a lasting impression on my character. I believe that baseball has provided me with the most essential characteristics to become a successful member of…

Growing up I played baseball to me baseball was everything i could think of. i couldn't wait to the weekend so i could put on that dirty uniform and pick up the new bat and nice leather glove and play baseball. When i was young i played in a big park in NYC where everyone saw you play so as i grew up everyone expected me to continue playing baseball and get better and work hard my mother always signed me up for baseball and i met a lot of coaches who help me gain more talent throughout the years. So as i grew up baseball started to be more and more of a priority to me i went to baseball practice two times a week one during the week and one on the weekend and with baseball practice i attended a baseball program which is twice a week meaning less and less time for homework and time to study. that being said i believe that time management and dealing with less and less sleep is the biggest problem with high school sports.…

“When your values are clear to you, making decisions becomes easier.” said Eric K. Disney. Memories and events in one's life has major impacts on how their future is shaped. I have many events in my life that helped me choose my goals, for after college, of becoming a teacher. Hunting, fishing, and sports are all immense parts of my everyday life, mainly on the way I was raised and the decisions I've made along the way. Many parents tell their kids at a young age that they do not have to follow what their siblings, cousins, leaders, or anybody else has done.…

In baseball I learned more than just catching the ball and hitting it, players have to learn how to have athleticism. The feeling you get after sitting inside and then going to practice to stretch and play baseball is amazing. One way I use athleticism is for making diving plays in the outfield so I have to make sure I know how I can take a fast route to the ball. Another thing I learned is having to be able to stretch for plays like playing first base. Also, I have learned how I can gain arm strength for long throws from third to first or right field to…

Baseball also taught me leadership and responsibility two unique skills I use all the…
