Why Is Friar Lawrence Guilty
Friar Lawrence is not guilty. He was not intending for anyone to get hurt.
Although Friar Lawrence is not guilty, I do see why some people think he is guilty. He did do a few things he shouldn’t have done.
One reason why Friar Lawrence is not guilty is that it was Juliet's choice to kill herself. There is a keyword herself. Friar did not force her to die. Juliet said, “ I long to die,”. This is saying she has wanted to die for a while.
Another reason why Friar Lawrence is not guilty is that Juliet asked Friar to give her the potion. So he was not making her take it. Therefore he was not in the wrong. Juliet said, “ Give me, give me! O, tell not me of fear!”(IVi121). She was wanting the potion and was not scared to take it.
