Why Is Off Campus Lunch Wrong
When students are allowed off-campus for lunch, it can promote both positive, and sometimes rather negative behavior. There are some schools that would like to have this privilege revoked. However; this may not necessarily be the best solution to some bouts of bad behavior showing off-campus. In actuality, this would more than likely end up promoting even worse behavior, because the students would then feel the need to rebel against the system. Also, anger would result within both the negatively behaving students, and likely the students that were behaving well in the first place. There are several reasons why off-campus lunch privileges should not be revoked, including negative responses towards a punishment policy, a more crowded environment, and a more localized negative response (rebellion). First of all, yes, there are students who take advantage of off-campus privileges, but in usual cases, the majority of students respect the privilege. It would be unfair to punish the majority for the actions of a mere few. As stated in the paragraph previous to this one, punishment inflicted on the well behaved students can promote negative behavior. Students who never did anything wrong in the first place will be trying to understand why they are being punished for something they didn’t even do. …show more content…
There are schools where the number of students is ridiculously high, causing overcrowding already. Lunch rooms are typically small, meaning that there would be people without anywhere to sit, and there would be people who couldn’t get their lunches before the end of the lunch period. Allowing kids to go off-campus for lunch will give more room to the students who decide to stay at school to eat. Also, it will help ensure that everyone is given a fair chance at getting something to eat for lunch, instead of having to spend the entire time waiting futilely in a seemingly endless

I believe that high schools should have open lunches. Students should be able to leave the school grounds and go to a fast food restaurant, or, if they choose should at least be able to go outside and eat. Students need to have a small break from school during the day, even if they are outside, they still can take their minds off of school work for a while. Students need to have fresh air and adequate sunlight. Fresh air and sunlight is a proven fact to help students in their studies and it also helps the students concentrate more. I understand that the school staff would not like the fact that the students would be able to leave campus without supervision. Are not the students in high school? Should we not have the responsibility to be able…

In light of the above, it may seem irrational to defend school lunch. Such a standpoint, nonetheless, seems to ignore the serious consequences that come with its substitute: the lunch box. There are in fact several reasons that make lunch box a bad option. Firstly, because it is a waste of time; time that many busy parents do not have. One can but imagine how much more practical and time-saving it is to have meals provided for the children than to let each parent cook for their own children. Secondly, for many children, the school meal is the only…

It all started at one of the monthly student government meetings, as the leadership class was reviewing details for a possible upcoming dance, and complaints of the restrooms were being brought up. As things began to wrap up, someone announced the possibility of a closed campus lunch, and murmurs were heard throughout the room. Although the news of closed campus lunch has quickly spread throughout the tech community, surprisingly the first time administrators heard of this was through the students, not the staff. Interviewed staff were not alerted to the situation, including Mr. Price, one of the assistant principals. According to him, he hasn’t, “heard about closed campus from anybody, only from the students. I see the notices I see what…

“So from eating out, we can also learn how to make wise choices.” This would make students prepared for college by enabling them to leave campus and eat what they want. This independence would get kids ready to face the real world. “It provides a semi-sheltered climate to allow students to grow and become responsible.” This would give teens the privilege of not being watched every second of the day. If students disobeyed the rules of when they should be back, they could take away the privilege or give punishment. Throughout high school students don’t have very many opportunities to show how independent they are any letting them leave for lunch would be a perfect way for teens to show teachers they can be trusted and can survive in the real world.I know a lot of high school students who are very shy and keep to themselves. With the ability to leave school during lunch, kids would become more outgoing because there would be many more chances for them to socialize and interact with the real world. “If students have the privilege of off-campus lunch, they will gain more responsibility and more experience on how the real world works.” All kids have a big part in the future of our job…

School lunches lack healthy nutrients that growing children and teens need. Because, schools lack the proper funding needed to support students with healthy lunches, students have a horrible diet. A lot of people, including myself, believe that if healthy school lunches were provided students at home would make better choices when it came to what snacks they ate between meals. If schools got better funding for healthier lunches it could theoretically save the government more money because the students in turn would have less health problems.…
