Explain Why High Schools Should Have Open Lunches

I believe that high schools should have open lunches. Students should be able to leave the school grounds and go to a fast food restaurant, or, if they choose should at least be able to go outside and eat. Students need to have a small break from school during the day, even if they are outside, they still can take their minds off of school work for a while. Students need to have fresh air and adequate sunlight. Fresh air and sunlight is a proven fact to help students in their studies and it also helps the students concentrate more. I understand that the school staff would not like the fact that the students would be able to leave campus without supervision. Are not the students in high school? Should we not have the responsibility to be able
to return to class on time? I also understand that it is the school's responsibility to take care of the student. Can not the school get parents consent? Have the parents sign a release form at registration time. I also understand that there is the additional risk in present time that the students could smoke if they were aloud to go outside. Can the school not have a eating area outside that had staff members there to watch? Are there not already staff members in the cafeteria? If not for everyone, the upperclassmen should at least be able to leave for lunch if they like, or at least the choice to eat outside if they choose. Why not trust the students to be honest and responsible and be on time for their classes. Students already have the responsibility show up for school every morning, do they not? If a student really did not want to come back after lunch, would they not just stay home from school ? You have so many students who don’t eat lunch at school because they don’t like it . There are some students who are sick or allergic to certain things and can’t eat the school food . The school have food to where it’s’ not done or it’s over cooked . By letting the kids leave for lunch they have so many options to choose from. If they let kids leave for lunch they will have to be back at a certain time and if not back by that time they will have consequences . It will also be great to leave because if you're having a bad day or just been stuck in the class all day and really frustrated . With the school letting you leave the school to get lunch you have the opportunity to just refresh your mind and get away from all of it .
