According to Bengt (2010) the politics should encourage the happiness principle, which consist strong moral values such as maximizing the happiness and minimizing the suffering. By torturing a person, politician will minimize the value of happiness. Utilitarianism theory states that society must promote happiness for everyone, minimizing the harm from the different actions. Authors of this theory, Bentham and Mill say that morally best alternative or solution is that, which requires no sufferings and making a big amount of people happy. If to apply to case that we are considering, it seems that the only right decision in this situation is a proper talk with terrorist.
