Why Kids Shouldn T Be Cursive

I think students don't have to write in cursive because many others can't read or write cursive. Its pointless in writing something down in cursive if your just going to have to read it out loud to them. It is very dificult to teach a child to write in cursive. This is why i think cursive shouldn't be a required curriculum for schools to be teaching. It is really rare to see some one who reads and writes in cursive. Some teachers learned to write cursive but because everybody before the 2000's were obligated to learn it. In the second article it states "Removing cursive from the classroom has been called a controversial decision. It shouldn't be." i agree with the author. The student should deside if they want to learn cursive. This is manly the reason why children don't learn it because it was forced.
There is nothing wrong with having learned cursive in the past but learning it in a modern era is pointless.
Student now need learn in the real world. Like with technology. These days people are on there computer typing essays like me and won't think twice about typing it rather than handwriting it.

I never learned cursive because fourth grade was a real strugle for me. I felt like my teacher was forcing us to learn cursive which only made it even harder to learn it. The only thing that would go threw my head was that it would take me longer to write out a sentence in cursive when i would be able to write three in my handwriting.

These were my thoughts on why i never learned cursive. Many students can't read or write cursive and is pointless to learn. This is also why i think cursive shouldn't be a required curriculum at
school.
