Why Shouldn T Tris Accept Al's Apology
If Tris had accepted Al’s apology, would he still have fallen into the chasm? (pg 300) Right before Al supposedly killed himself, he had tried to apologize to Tris about the fact that he helped Peter try to kill her, however, she didn’t accept it and threatened to kill him. Therefore, Tris might have pushed him to the edge because of her harsh words even though he deserved them. Not only did Tris not accept Al’s apology, but she also threatened to kill him if he ever thought of coming near her again. Maybe, he fell into the chasm because life without Tris there would be one that he couldn’t handle due to his previous feelings for her along with their friendship. However, Al did pull this one on himself, right? To add to that, not only might …show more content…
(pg 299-300) I think this because on pg 299 it states, “I’m so sorry, I don’t… I don’t know what’s wrong with me….” This is showing how Al doesn’t know why he did what he did to Tris. Al is a character that is unpredictable. He was a character that was sad and got low rankings and than wanted to hurt Tris. Tris never did anything to Al. Suddenly he was targeting her like if she was a threat to him or something. He didn’t target away else.
Did the environment of Dauntless change Al’s personality to wanting to hurt Tris? I think this because Dauntless is dark and mysterious. People in Dauntless dress in black and they are about being brave and risk takers, but maybe Al wanted to live up to that standard, but he took it the wrong way.
Did Al know that Tris is Divergent? I think this because Al joined Peter and Drew to scare Tris by hanging her over the chasm. Al was just a shy kid who didn’t fit in and now all of a sudden we wants people dead and he killed himself. Doesn’t seem much sense why his whole personality would change so

(p376) Does it have something to do with the the simulation serum that her mother told her to ask her brother about? (P354) Are they going to control them to do their dirty work? Are they going to brainwash them? What is going to make the Dauntless do the Erudite’s fighting? Will it be enough for them to have been brainwashing them with the newspaper reports of how bad the Abnegation faction is. Why is there going to be a war against Abnegation? (pg 376) Why do to the Erudites not like the Abnegation Faction? When Four and Tris are speaking about what is going on, they realize that her brother is correct, “something big is going on.” The Erudites want to take down the Abnegation faction, the faction that controls the government. Why do they want to do this? How will this be an advantage to the Erudites? What will they change in the other factions?

The importance of being Divergent is first introduced to Beatrice after she completes her Aptitude Test (which determines which faction a person should choose). Tori (the test manager) reports to her: “’My conclusion,’ she explains, ‘is that you display equal aptitude for Abnegation, Dauntless, and Erudite. People who get this result are…’ She looks over her shoulder like she expects someone to appear behind her. ‘… are called … Divergent.’ She says the last word so quietly that I almost don’t hear it, and her tense, worried look returns. She walks around the side of the chair and leans in close to me. ‘Beatrice,’ she says, ‘under no circumstances should you share that information with anyone. This is very important.’” The manner in which Tori says that Tris is a Divergent means that it is an extremely rare condition that changes the way people look at them, and this is meant that Tris would have to create her identity alone. Likewise, as Tris possessed from both the Abnegation and the Dauntless (selflessness and bravery respectively), it was easier for her to create an identity accustomed towards the Dauntless; as explained by Four. After he and Tris exit the fear simulation room, he says: “’I have a theory that selflessness and bravery aren’t all that different. All your life you’ve been training to forget yourself, so when you’re in danger, it becomes your…

Lili showed no signs of being angry at Guy for leaving her and Little Guy alone.
