The truth is, they are more prone to accidents because of their health issues. To explain, people over the age of 60 have very bad issues with there health problems, which can be very dangerous (Repa). Hearing loss, poor vision, and medication are just a few examples that may be an issue when driving. For example, as everyone knows, while having health problems at any age can effect a person very badly, it can also attract more accidents, and lead to miscommunication. The reason being is that, while you get older your body changes (Older Drivers). Health issues are uncontrollable and can be very hazardous when it comes to something as serious as driving. Elderly people's muscles begin to weaken and it becomes harder for them to react quickly in a certain way, and it also changes their vision and physical fitness. There has even been studies that have proved that women quit driving before men because they tend to have more problems and need more assistance (Repa). In the end, both sexes are capable of causing the same amount of danger towards others due to physical or any other types of problems that they may have. However, some states are trying to handle this situation by enforcing mandatory driving tests and reporting laws (Mortist). Having this in every state can possibly save and change many lives, especially the adults that have health problems, it can also allow them to live longer because they will not be in danger of a car
