When we refer to the ethos of the commercial, which means the arguments referred to the characters, this commercial has a lot of them. The first example is the supermodels that show this product. This is a good rhetoric strategy because supermodels have a perfect body that no matter how cheap or ugly this product is it will look good on them. This is really important because it gives security to the consumer that they are buying a “good” product. Another ethos is the use of expensive cars and explosions. This makes the product look better because we can assume that they spent a lot of money in this commercial and at the same time it entertains the viewer.…

On Youtube, when looking at videos you have to watch ads before you can enjoy the video you want to watch. I saw the commercial for Old Spice deodorant when browsing Youtube’s videos and thought it was a very effective advertisement, it is very fast paced and always changing so it makes the viewer concentrate and pay more attention to the commercial. The advertisement is based around the spokesperson, who is a man telling the audience that all women would prefer him over their man. He says the next best thing to having him as your man is having your man smell like him. The commercial spends thirty three seconds trying to convince the viewer that if you buy its companies body wash or deodorant and use it to smell like the man on the screen you will be able to do the ridiculous things he is capable of doing. The advertisements purpose is either to make a man want to buy the scented product so he can please his ladies nasal senses and amaze her, or to make a woman want her man to start wearing the product for her pleasure.…

In all of the ads we hear the narrator interacting with the athletes talking about them pushing their limits. He also asks them a serious of questions, so we can know a little more about what they do. The athletes respond and also interact with the narrator as they are doing their activities. The reason I believe this make audience be interested is because, we get to know a little more about them, we get to become inspired about how they take their obstacles and adversities, and what's running through their mind while doing this. We become inspired. The fact they use humorous dialogues is more appealing because this commercial is easier to remember. Usually funny things are more interesting and acceptable and by consequence the brand will be easier to be…

The first ad is from Bic Wite-out showing the struggles of poverty, and the second ad is from a Chinese company, with a bird committing suicide warning the people about the environment. Bic Wite-out begins with two separate images of a drawing of a boy looking down as he sits on the floor. The dispute between the two images is that the picture on the left shows an empty can, and the right shows that this tin has been whitened out, and is…

The commercial starts and we see an African American male knocking on a door with flowers, an African American female comes to the door and takes the flowers. Here we see they are obviously about to go out on a date. When the little boy is first introduced to the commercial he is seen with a look of anger. He drops his game controller to show the viewer that he is in fact mad about something. The man picks up a Dorito and starts talking to the boy. Here the man is just trying to be nice but the little boy gets mad, slaps the man and tells him to keep his hands off of his mama and his Doritos. The slap was unexpected, humorous and effective all at the sane time.…

I’ve been eating a lot of avocado lately. They’ve been on offer in the supermarket (though still excruciatingly expensive), so I’ve been buying about 4 at a time. Most of the time I just have them smooshed inside a pitta bread with some salt and pepper (like avocado toast but betterrrr because it stays nice and warm), but this time I decided to do something a bit more exciting. Just cut them into chunks, bread them, bake them, and voila – crunchy coating but soft and creamy inside…

To start of the ad, you see a mom gardening in her backyard and smiling as she watches her daughter hanging upside down on the playground set. The cute little girl is smiling from ear to ear, and having the time of her life. The playground bar then transitions to an uneven bar in a gymnastics center. Now, the moms smile is replaced with a coaches smile,…

Cars are one of the most important luxuries of today’s generation. We see car advertisements in magazines, on billboards and on television every single day. Specific ads talk about which brand of cars are bigger, stronger and better on gas mileage and also talking about which cars are stronger, smoother and more luxurious. The Toyota and the Jeep are two huge brands in automotive today. Both ads can be seen in magazines all over the world. The Toyota Tundra ad can be found in Field & Stream Magazine while the Jeep Compass can be found in Men’s Health Magazine. The Toyota Tundra ad and the Jeep Compass ad are similar in numerous ways. Each vehicle is placed appropriately on the page so they’re impossible to miss and catch the reader’s attention. They are both metaphorically described in bold lettering. Both ads have different and unique backgrounds to make the vehicles stand out. Advertising is a way to attract the public’s attention, which in this case, the Toyota Tundra ad probably wants to attract people who need a heavy duty and powerful vehicle. The Jeep Compass ad probably wants to attract free living city dwellers.…

During the half time show of the super bowl in 2007, I watched a great ad. This ad depicts two auto mechanics working on a car together in a garage. The one mechanic to the left of the screen pulls out a Snickers bar and begins to eat it. The second mechanic is almost memorized by the candy bar and begins to eat it from the opposite end. The two men eat the candy bar down until their lips meet in a "kiss". They are both instantly shocked by the situation and move apart from each other. The mechanic to the right shouts: "quick do something manly", and then rips out a large chunk of his chest hair. The other mechanic does the same.…

Avocados have been part of many people’s life for hundreds of years. People know different ways of using them and their different of eating them but some people don’t know where avocados come from or that they have changed over the years. People have had avocados for so long that they have been taken for granted but just imagine avocados going extinct and never being able to taste guacamole for the first time. Both the advertisements relate to adventure and spending time with family. They both have captions in the center of the page to grab the audience. “Buy one headlight, get two hands free” (People Magazine 76) and “Amazon asked us to take the kindle Paperwhite with us on the road. We stopped outside Torres Del Paine National Park to let the girls explore, while I downloaded Lonely Planet South America and planned our next move” (People Magazine 44). The first advertisement I found was of the Ford motor company. In the advertisement you see a sleek and beautiful new Ford car. It is on the set for a movie, showing off its beauty to the cameras and the people that are on set too with the car. You see props all along the set, we know those aren't real, the only real prop they are using on that set is the beautiful ford car. The other advertisement that I found was one of a family all together, gathered around the mother. The father is standing up behind the chair, his son is off to the side, and the mother is sitting in the chair while her little girl is sitting on her lap. It seems that they are all gathered together so that the mother can read the book that she is holding in hers, to them for their enjoyment. This advertisement was selling life insurance for the whole family. Each of the advertisements is targeting a specific group of people that they want to bring into what they are trying to preach about. The Ford motor company wants the group of the middle…
