Martin Luther King Junior was born on Tuesday January the 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia United States of America. When Martin Luther King Junior was born, His name wasn’t Martin, his name was Michael Luther King Junior after his father, Michael Luther King Senior. Michael junior’s father changed his name after they went to a religious conference in Germany. The reason that Martin Luther Junior’s father changed both of their names was in honour of the great protestant reformer. The reason that Martin Luther King Junior became involved in the civil rights movement was because he wanted equality for all black Americans. He made a difference to the African Americans by giving public speeches. There were millions of people that turned up to
listen to his speeches. Some of the people that came to listen were white Americans. Martin Luther was influential because he made the white Americans want the Black Americans be free and equal. His Speeches were extremely effective, like his I have a dream speech, but they didn’t last forever.
