April 06, 2017 Once allies with the Soviet Union (Russia), the United States began to be afraid and have problems come up towards Stalin and his views on Communism; therefore bringing forward the Red Scare, which lead everyone to be skeptical about Communism, what it meant towards the United States, and what the effects would be. So… Was the Cold War even necessary? Was it necessary to fight over beliefs that weren’t yours? Was it worth it? World War II happened over a time period of about six years in the 1900’s. Stalin was a feared man; mainly because of the way he ruled over Russia. He was a ridged man whom ruled with terror, war, and death has his tools. Many of the residents of Russia lost their lives over his time of reining over the country. When appointed, he wanted to turn Russia completely around; he wanted a “force”, not just another country. During the World War II, he refused to heed the warning the United States and Great Britain gave to him about Adolf Hitler and what he would do to the pact. Later he found out the hard way that he should have listened. Even after the war Stalin progressed onto taking over new territories and soon causing the US to draw attention to the invasion. Stalin allowed North Korea to invade into the United States Territory, South Korea; which angered the United States greatly. Should we not have known the kind of reputation Stalin had? The US should have been prepared and had troops waiting… especially after reciecving the intel that Stalin was making a move to/on Korea. Knowing Stalin, he was a brutal man, he wanted to become the main power nation to rule. He would go out of his way trying to convert nations into the Communist power. All though Stalin did improve some aspects of Russia, they were mostly for helping himself not for helping the USSR or its people. Stalin's regime was on of resentment and fear, which began in 1929. For instance in document #6, Stalin is showing leadership skills by warning everyone about the Nazis (Germans).
