The exchange programs allow full-time Oshkosh students to trade places with other students who attend different universities. Students can choose from universities and colleges that are domestic and international. Most students participate in study aboard programs at UW Oshkosh setting themselves apart from their peers to become an international scholar. With more than 50 programs to choose from students can incorporate study abroad and exchange programs while still fulfilling the requirements needed for graduation. Students have the opportunity to explore and conduct research with faculty members. For example, the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program prepares undergraduate for doctoral school by pairing them with faculty members who assist the students by gathering data and completing a research project. Undergraduates have the opportunity to publish their research allowing students to foster a learning environment. There are over 170 clubs and organizations if students do not find a fit he/she are allowed to create their desired club and/or organization. Students are provided advisors to write by-laws of their desired organization of choice. Students change and grow throughout their college journey, and student affair professionals are making sure they assist students to follow their desired trajectory. Most of the student life programs allow students to focus on their intellectual skill development and knowledge
