HARRY, Successful business man in his 40s

Setting
Streets of downtown. Present.

Lights up to reveal MITCH sitting on the sidewalk asking passersby for money. HARRY approaches him with a hateful message.

HARRY
Hey, you. Yeah, you. Why don’t you try getting off the streets and get a job, ya filthy drunk?

MITCH
Ya know, sir, it might surprise you, but I used to have a fancy suit and tie and briefcase just like you. And I haven’t had a drop of alcohol in nine years.

Harry
Yea right, like i haven’t hear that before. If you had a fancy suit and tie like mine why don’t you still

MITCH
You never know what can happen you can change and built a stronger relationship with you family.

HARRY
Me and my family are fine.

MITCH Trust me if you just change you and family can be much closer to each other.

HARRY
Don’t tell me what me and my family can be.

MITCH
Life can be so much more enjoyable and i want you to see that.

HARRY
I understand but there’s nothing i can do about it now.

MITCH
See that’s were your wrong you can spend more time with your daughter. You can be a father to you daughter she needs a father figure and only you can make that happen.

HARRY
I see that but i have so much work i don’t know where to start.

MITCH
You can start by taking a day off work to spend with her.

HARRY
I want to but that’s less money i would have to spend on her.

MITCH
Money isn’t more important then watching your little girl grow up.

HARRY
Yeah, okay i’ll take a day off but what am i going to do for that whole day.

MITCH
There’s lots of things you can do go see a movie, got to a park and push her on the swings. You can take her out for some ice cream later alot of stuff.

HARRY
I can’t believe im taking advice from a lonely homeless man.
