Woman In Gold Analysis
We do not usually describe everything that surrounds us. However, when we look at any object in our environment for more than a few seconds, we will possibly find incredible amount of details in everything. For this assignment, I decided to describe a painting by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt called “The Woman in Gold”.
The painting seems very simple because it only depicts the woman in gold – Adele Bloch Bauer. Even if we can find lots of colors on the painting like green, blue, or red, the whole painting is represented in gold. In the painting, Mrs. Bloch Bauer has the look of a typical 20th century woman with an oval-shaped face, thick eyebrows and high chin. Her black thick hair is pulled up which allows us to see her face completely.

The painting consists of a very blue color scheme throughout. This is, in most cases, associated with coldness and sometimes death. The dark blue background also, as mentioned above, provided almost an extreme contrast. In addition to the background, her hair also dark. Had he chosen blonde hair, the contrast would dulled. Most importantly, the girl’s eyeliner very much brings out her eyes. It is strategically placed on her waterlines rather than lids to accentuate her eyeballs and provide incredibly sharp corners to her eyes. The coldness and “deathly” tone of the painting manifests an eerie and dangerous theme. The contrast and accentuation of the girl and her eyes inclines the audience to be intrigued by the girls fearlessness in a cold and deathly…

The contrast between her bright aura and the dark surroundings could the author’s way of symbolizing Madame de Thorigny’s status and wealth. Distinctively visual images which can be seen, or perceived in the mind can shape the responder understanding of relationship with others plus the world around . The use of distinctively visual features has had a positive effect on my understanding of the novel Maestro by Peter Goldsworthy’s and the painting ‘starry starry night’ by Vincent van Gogh. This has been done through distinctively visual features such as descriptive and emotive language in Maestro and the use of colour, shading, lighting and placement in ‘starry starry night’.In saying this, this gives evidence as I do strongly agree with the statement ‘‘The visual image has a significant impact on the way the responder is positioned to react to a text’. This will be seen through…

This painting was created by Georgia O’Keeffe. She spent her days at Lake George in New York and there is where she got her inspiration for her painting. This painting is an unusual painting because it is not a painting where you can see exactly what things are. You can make out the blue as water and the grey colors as clouds. She does well to not show her brush strokes in the painting. Everything is painted to where it looks real even though it is hard to make out what it is that you are looking…

People often toss around the notion that “art is subjective.” We have heard the phrase “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” one too many times growing up. We all understand that everyone holds different perspectives, but maybe we have become numb to the actual meanings behind these words. We are the ones who succumb to the aesthetics of art without truly understanding the contexts in which it arises from. We seem to think we know all about a culture once we possess or even create a certain “stereotypical” work of art. We get so caught up in the beauty of it all, but we need to question what exactly aesthetic values do in creating a false sense of reality. Writers like Teju Cole understand this urge and give us a wake-up call that we are living…

The author starts off describing this sudden urge and desire to view a painting he has seen so many times in reproduction – The Painting of the woman with necklace. The author spent 2 hours in the gallery observing minute details of this painting alone. He views it so close up that his nose was almost on the painting and the guard had to kind of waive him off and then he studied the painting from several different directions. He was paying attention to every minute detail such as clothing, colors, shades, folds, texture and elements of the painting ,and he was referring to some critics point of view and making a point to look at the painting with a fresh eye. The painting had him engrossed so much like no other painting ever before. The painting was like urging him and telling a total different story than critics’ views.…

Money is the most precious thing to people, but does it create happiness? Well, in Lola Ridge’s poem “The Woman with Jewels” shows that no matter how much money you have it doesn’t make you happy. This piece is in the limited colors of black, white, and red. The image itself is in the right top corner with a red skinny rectangle in white bold letters “Super Rich, Ultra Gorgeous” and in the left bottom corner in the same style it says “Extra Skinny, forever Young.” An attractive young woman is depicted summered in blocky ice water. The women wear a mask over her face, but it still purposely exposes her forehead through the bridge of the nose, with her lips popping out through a cutout. The style of the woman’s image resembles the 1950s. The females eyes in the photo serve as a focal point, however, her implied gaze leads upward. This allows the viewer to be curious where the implied line is vanishing. The work is clean and consists of representational art traditions. Kruger does not take any wild liberty with the editing, she simply adds her…
