The first few weeks are tough for Auggie who is excluded and ignored by almost all the students in the school. We watch as a group of fifth-graders, led by Julian Albans (Bryce Gheisar), bully Auggie by calling him a freak and spreading rumors that kids will get the “plague” they touch him. However, Auggie soon finds himself making new friends and winning over the hearts of unexpected people with his kindness and good-natured personality. I think that Jack Will was an interesting character who was portrayed very well because, in the scenes where he stands up for Auggie, we can see that he can be a good person and that he does know the difference between right and wrong. However, we can also see him being influenced by peer pressure from his other friends and being targeted for spending time with Auggie. In a way, I think Jack Will’s character reflects many of our own personalities. Often, we know what the right thing to do is, but we choose the easy way out because we don’t want to face all the
