Workplace Regulations: Personal Experience
These are working time regulations such as maximum hours worked each week. Health and safety at work act, data protection showing how personal information are used, age discrimination , disability act, employment act, maternity pay, national minimum wage, equal opportunities.

Working time regulations are to prevent workers to be forced to work excessive hours. They also make the provision of annual leave pay, they also include rights to rest breaks. Working time regulations apply to adult workers and young workers and are slightly different for each of these groups.
Health and safety at work act is to keep safety and welfare of people at work and protecting others from risks to health and safety in connection with activities at work. To provide equipment and training how to use it. The act sets out general duties which employers have towards their employees, and employees to themselves and towards other members of staff. The main requirement of employers is to carry out a risk assessment. Age discrimination means it is illegal to prevent somebody taking a job, because they are considered too young or too old.

To protect the rights of employers and employees by providing rules and regulations that have to be followed. It exists to protect health and safety of people within the work environment as well as protecting people from being abused at work. They provide protection against discrimination at workplace and help fight for fair and equal pay for every worker regardless of sex, age, beliefs, religion etc.

These are ACAS ( Advisory Conciliation & Arbitration Service ). They deal with employment issues. ACAS is the place where you should go if you have any problems at work or if you seek information on employment rights and rules.

Citizens advice bureau. This is the place where you can seek general legal advice about your employment and if applicable you will be reffered to employment adviser or another place where they
