4.1 Introduction In this chapter, the researcher will attempt to analyze the data collected from the field work. To paint a rough picture of the process, a set of questionnaires were distributed to firstly find out the anxiety levels of form 4 Cerdas students in SMK Kepong. The questionnaire were based on Daly and Miller’s 1975 WAT (writing apprehension test) .The second item on the agenda was to determine at which stage of the writing process students experienced writing anxiety the most. This was given in a form of open ended questions where participants answered yes or no and provided brief explanations. Questions were adapted from Termit and Saravana 2012. A total of 43 participants were involved in the survey. Out of the 43 participants 21 were female and 22 were male.

i) What is the anxiety levels of form 4 students in SMK Kepong as well as the possible causes of the anxiety? ii) At which stages of the writing process ie pre-writing, while writing, post writing, editing, publishing, do students experience writing apprehension the most
4.2 Results and discussion For the purposes of better understanding the researcher will divide the data into 2 parts namely part one being the WAT (Writing Apprehension Test) scale to measure anxiety levels of students. Furthermore, part one will also attempt to find possible causes of writing anxiety in students. Part 2 is the open ended questions which are used to determine at which stage of the writing process students fell the most anxious. In part, one the mechanics of the collection of data follows as such. The questionnaire consists of twenty questions in total each designed based on statements that people in general make about themselves when undergoing writing.
