A Day at the Park
As a child, I had the chance to travel to various parks but my favorite place was always Kings Island. Me and my family travel to Ohio at least four times a month. Every Friday night, we’ll all stay up until sunrise. Before we get on the highway, me and my sister including my parents will share a prayer. I always beat everybody to the car sitting in the front seat yelling “LETS GO”. The whole time on the road, we’ll all play cards, listen to music, and eat a few snacks. We save the meals for when we get there and also for the trip back home. After an hour on the road, I tend to just go to sleep until we reach our destination. That was always the routine, it never fails.

I was always the first in line at the entrance. Soon as everybody enters the amusement park, we always split up and agree on a time to meet and where. I always walk all through the park to eat at the best concession stand. I’ll always order the biggest burger with an extra large fries also, with a bottle of fanta. After experiencing all the various foods, now it’s time for me to explore all the rides. The Drop Zone is always my first choice. The ride stands 315 feet up and goes 60 miles per hour. The Drop Zone takes you way up in the atmosphere and suddenly drops. The vortex is very similar to the drop zone. Vortex takes you up, down, sideways, upside down, backwards and also captures the funny faces.

In my opinion, I think that’s best ride the park have to offer after The beast. The Beast is the most threatening and it’s also made of wood. At first, I’ll be skeptical to get on but eventually the crowd behind me always encourages me. I remember getting off The Beast and immediately started throwing up. After a long day by myself, we all meet up at the appropriate time. Everybody shared what they’ve experienced and make a decision on staying or leaving the park. Obviously, I intend on staying but my parents always say we can come back another time. With them having the final say to

Yap Penraat (born on April 11th, 1918 in Amsterdam, Netherlands; died on June 25th, 2006 in New York) was an interior designer, sculpture, architect (for tiles and statues), and a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II. Penraat always had respect for the Jews; ever since he was a child he would switch the lights for Shabbat, which was forbidden to do for a Jew at the time. He started his resistance activities when the Nazis first started to occupy the Netherlands. He began by taking a risk and forging identity papers for the Jews, which led him to several months of imprisonment. Though, that did not stop him, and he successfully smuggled 406 people from the Netherlands and led them to safety in Spain. He did this via France; he used his forgery skills to convince France that the Jews were slave laborers for the Atlantic Wall and only lost one man in the process. With sacrifice came hardship; he was tortured by the Nazis, but revealed nothing of his effort. Once he was released he continued his activities, but it became too risky and he went into hiding for the remainder of the war. After the war, he moved to America and started to tell of his experiences, with the convincing of his daughters to let the world know about his heroism. Yap Penraats commitment to guiding those Jews to safety paid off and was awarded the designation of: “The Righteous among the Nations” in 1988. Penraat was one of the small minorities that recognized that the Jews were like everyone else and that they had rights. Yap Penraat and all of the other Righteous of the Nations taught us to believe in the equality of all human beings and that anyone can make a difference.…

Going around and around up to the stop in what will be the most dizzying part of the whole ride. There passengers will experience a constant speed, until it slows down and stops for a moment. In those three seconds riders will be distracted by the figure dressed in white, before they plummet into freefall and experience weightlessness. Reaching terminal velocity and higher air resistance down the drop, at the bottom will go underground and will experience the highest air pressure. A few sharp turns, and passengers hanging onto their limbs for dear life, they will emerge from underground and do a loop, only be sent back underground. Consequently, riders will perform a horrifying turn, then fully emerge from underground and slow down, experience the most…

My best pecan fest memory was last year when I first rode the Pharaoh’s Fury. When I got on I was getting scared. I got on and there was no turning back. I sat down in the seat and the ride began to move. I thought I was goanna fly out the seat. It was going back and forth and it didn’t stop until it started to slow down. Then it stopped completely. My body felt all wobbly. I got off it was hard to walk. Next I walked over to a ride that I didn’t really know the name of. But it was really fun! Then I got off and decided to ride it again, and again! Next I got bored of the ride, and rode something call Tug a boat. It swayed me and other people back, and forth. I rode it again for no reason. There are two vacation spots I frequently visited in my youth that hold special memories for me. The two places are Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. When I was very young and lived in South Florida, my family would make our yearly two-week vacation to our home in Boone, NC. Each year, this trip included a visit to Gatlinburg. I hold very special memories of these trips and still love to visit the Gatlinburg area. When I moved to North Carolina in my late teens, Myrtle Beach was the vacation and summer break spot. Even on my first visit to Myrtle Beach, although very different, it instantly reminded me of my trips to Gatlinburg as a child. Although both places are very different, in many ways they are very much the same. After going from the vacationing child, to the paying adult, I realized more and more how both places appeal to the same vacationer. I also realized that forms of entertainment were either the same or comparable. Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg compliment and differ in many ways, and a few of those examples are stage entertainment, restaurants, and scenic vacation experiences. Both vacation spots have tons of entertainment. Sometimes the problem with family vacation spots is not what are we going to do, but how are we going to do it all In Myrtle Beach, some of my favorite entertainment activities are Big Laughs Theatre Wild 4 Hypnosis Comedy Show. Located in Surfside Beach, SC, this show is a belly-laughing good time. This show consists of audience members being hypnotized and doing funny things they do not remember. The show is great for all ages, which makes it a family favorite. Another fun entertaining place in Myrtle Beach is The Carolina Opry. The Carolina Opry is the only show named, Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach by CNN, New York Times, and USA Today, just to name a few. Shows at this location would include, Light, a laser light show to music such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, Good…

Have you ever gone to Kansas City to go to worlds of fun? I have; I had to sit in a car for five hours in a tight space. It’s pretty easy, but you always need to stretch and go to the bathroom. We finally made it. When I first saw the rides I almost passed out, that’s how awesome it is. My family and I gave them our tickets and said can we all go on that one, my mom said yeah let’s all go on it. First we got on, then it started it was already going fast, speeding up every second. We were all holding on tight, all of us got dizzy. We did a loop and it stopped. That was the best ride ever, I said. We went on and finally got on our last ride the best one yet, right when I got strapped I was really nervous, the guy pressed the button. It was…

Another very popular vacation destination is theme parks. Places like Disney World, Dollywood, Six Flags, Universal Studios and Sea World offer big doses of high energy family fun. Theme parks are most popular amongst families with small children. There are plenty of activities geared directly toward holding children’s interests. There is also something magical about theme parks that draws in adults. The sights, the sounds, but mostly the way they make them feel. They remind them of simpler times, like when they were children and didn’t have a care in the world. The benefit to these vacations is that they require very little planning. The only thing you have to plan is how to get there. Once you arrive at the theme…
