A Favorite Place from My Childhood
One favorite place from my childhood that I remember fondly is my grandparents' house. It’s a marvelous location and unforgettable to me. When I was in young age my mom always sent me to live with my grandparents and my aunts during a long school holiday. On the other hand, I have many lovely memories of all the fun activities in my grandparents' house and other memories include the delicious meals I enjoyed there.

It was a wonderful memorable location. My grandparents' house is in Suphan Buri, one of the western Provinces in Thailand. The house is traditional Thai style, surrounded by a corn and rice farms: for that reason, a fresh breeze was always blowing. There is a beautiful flower garden and a cute back yard with some fruit trees and some of my aunt’s chicks and chickens. The view from all of the windows which included the backyard and a farm was marvelous. My sisters and I could see the sunrise from the front yard very clearly.

While I stayed there my grandparents planned a lot of activities to keep my sisters and I amused, such as kite flying, chase racing and hide, and seek game. We used to go to the temple every morning to give alms to Buddhist monks it was a peaceful place and very nice place to do meditation. We played a lot of board games such as dominoes, canasta, continental and monopoly. Also, we used to play outdoors. For example we did races, played hide-and-seek, and took refreshing hose showers at the backyard.

The elegant meals that I would never forget, my grandfather was a wonderful cook, and he used to prepare tasteful dishes for us. We tried vegetables, seafood, and all kind of meat made for him especially traditional Thai and Chinese food. Sometimes, my grandparents and we went out to dinner and could taste a wide variety of meals in down town restaurants

The beautiful location left indelible marks in my minds. The enjoyable time that we passed there is unforgettable. I miss a meal with the delicious taste of my grandfather's

My Aunt Caprice owned a large house and a couple acres of land which my brother and I would roam anytime we visited. Every Christmas Eve my mother would drive us over to Aunt Caprice’s house to visit her family and other close family friends. My Uncle Roger would take me around the property and let me collect chicken eggs for him. This taught me the value of hard work and was a humbling experience for me in my youth. My cousins, Bryan and Brent were very close to my brother and I, we would often hang out in the backyard either jumping on the trampoline or playing video games with each other. Some of my favorite memories were spent at that house, especially on Christmas to see family or just to go over and watch Dallas Cowboys games with…

There once was a time that I went to cabo San Lucas Mexico with my family. The reason that this trip was so special too was because I got to spend a whole week with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and most importantly my parents. When we first got we went to are rooms and put are thing down then went right down to the pool. I can still remember the way the pool look and felt because I got cut on one of the tiles in the pool. One there reasons I liked the pool so much is you could just sit there and watch the sun set. Then the next day I went fishing on the beach that was so cool casting out a fishing line and sitting there waiting with family there beaches are so beautiful and nice like the ones you see in TV commercials. I haven’t even got to the best part they have a little cruise called sunset cruise. You rode on a pirate ship and watch people fight and watch the sun go down. I was a lot like the movie call peter pan. This little cruise was so special because in a hurry and I got locked out of my room I forgot to wear shoes so I was without shoes that whole night. There is one restraints that you have to go to when you are there I mean they have unreal food. They have huge tacos filled with anything you want with beans, rice and a side salad. I can taste it now. I also remember the time I went with my grandparents to the beach after the sun went down with one of my uncles. You have experienced nothing until that happened I mean the sand nice and cold between your toes swimming in the ocean you feel so free and wild. That is why cabo San Lucas Mexico is so special to me. I have a lot of good memories there with my…

It was also the last place I saw my Grandmother Mary alive for the last time. We did not find out about the death until 5 months after, so this special place holds my last memories of her. Even after the death, my mother, sister and I continued the family tradition of going up and renting a cottage that the family has been staying in for years.…

Every person has at least one significant place that is cemented in their memory more than others. No matter where it is, it appears much more richly in our minds than most other places, and triggers a series of emotions and recollections. Some of the most prominent memories of my childhood spring from my family’s annual Christmas spot in Paris Landing state park. This little stretch of cabins in the woods is one of the most vivid and precious memories I have.…

After a long, long, car ride we always just relax for the rest of the day. Our condo is located in Pinnacle Port Resort. They have two pools both are outside, but one can be turned into a indoor. Things can get heated when my brother Lucas and I play tennis. I win of course. I wasn’t kidding when I said sand it your toes, we are right on the beach. One time I was walking on the beach, and I saw a baby shark. My family likes to visit new places when we head down…

Thanksgiving vacation, I traveled to Belton with my family. When we arrived I was so happy to see my cousins and they were just as happy to see me. In Belton, my grandparents own 26 acres, and near the back part there is a huge inviting treehouse. Right below the treehouse is an old broken truck, the kind seen in junkyards.…

While I have spoken to some of them and been told many endearing stories, it would be much more meaningful to create a personal connection to them. It would be particularly special because I would have the chance to meet the relatives that my grandmother grew up with; if they are anything like her I have no doubt in my mind that I will enjoy their company. Not to mention that they have promised to prepare me some of their best dishes, which makes my mouth water just thinking about. Concerning cuisine I would also like to study their cooking. I learned some of the basics from my grandma before she passed, but now that I am older and more comfortable in the kitchen it would be nice to learn how to prepare some more difficult, traditional dishes. Not to mention the added bonus of being able to eat these said dishes- if I could eat pasta for every meal, I…

About halfway through my bowl, when my grandma would get up to put on her night coat I would run quickly over to my grandpa and let him have one or two pieces of cookie dough before she returned, I would giggle as she came back into the room, cookie dough was one of our special secrets. When it was time to go to bed, I would snuggle between my grandparents, one hand holding onto my grandma and one hand holding onto my grandpa, the sound of their breathing and the crickets outside would lull me to sleep as my dreams took me into the next…
