The first baccalaureate degree was developed in the United States at the University of Minnesota in 1909. Today, most BSN programs take about 4 years to complete. These programs prepare students to practice in the beginning levels of leadership. They prepare students by including the components of quality and patient safety, evidence-based practice, liberal education, information management, communication/collaboration, clinical prevention, public health and other professional values in the course. In today’s world, the demands placed on nursing in the emerging health care system are likely to require a greater proportion of RNs who are prepared beyond the associate degree or diploma level (Creasia & Friberg, 2011).…

The California Science Center seems like a wonderful place, filled with exhibits that have many learning opportunities that make it seem like you are not learning, but having fun. I severely regret not going. The California Science Center is located south of downtown Los Angeles, in the historic Exposition Park, near USC (yeah!). Cost of admission is $10.00 (well that’s for parking, other than that, to get in is a donation), which is quite a paltry sum of money, seeing as you seem to get hours upon hours of fun. The days and hours of operation for the California Science Center are everyday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to become a California Science Center member, one must call (213) 744-7504 to purchase a Membership, or visit the Membership Information Desk at the Science Center. If you become a member, you become, as stated by the California Science Center website, “part of a dynamic, innovative community dedicated to our mission to stimulate curiosity and inspire science learning in everyone by creating fun, memorable experiences.” If you do not want to pay to be part of a wonderful organization, you can volunteer by turning in an application either by e-mail, fax, or by sending a letter to the Department of Volunteer Resources. In order to volunteer, however, you must be at least 16 years of age. Looking at the application, I believe that all elements that you are to put down are viable, and I would not change a thing.…
