Executive Summary
“A 25-year-old employee in Foxconn suddenly died due to work strain”, “A 37-year-old professor in Tsinghua University worked to death”, “24 suicides and 13 attempted suicides happened at France
Telecom”…In recent years, numerous headings about work-related death put the spotlights on the job stress which causes the negative impacts to both employees and organizations.
Job stress not only causes physical symptoms such as colds, viruses, headaches, overeating, sleeplessness, alcohol-drinking and smoking etc. but also causes mental problems such as anger, nervous feeling, depression, violence etc. These negative impacts lead decreased organization productivity and increased health care expense for the organizations. “U.S Stress Statistics” published on July.28th, 2103 shows that annual costs to employers in stress related health care and missed work are up to $300 Billion. It’s a huge loss. [1]
Yoga is a holistic approach for people to gain physical and mental health timely at a low cost. It gives the employees the skills on stress management and personal growth; meanwhile, improves their ability of focusing and stamina. Yoga classes on site in the corporate gives employees a pause to refresh mind and recharge energy during the consistent stressful workday. This document proposes the employers provide tailored 6-months corporate yoga programs to
