B.B. KING
His real name is Riley B. King. He had born in Itta Bena, Mississippi, united States. He is an African American known by the stage by BB King. He is a singer, guitarist and song writer. He is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all times, earning the nickname “The king of Blues”
Early Life:
King was born in a small cabin on cotton Plantation, Mississippi. His father was Albert King and his mother Nora Ella Farr. When King was 4 years old his father abandoned the family and his mother married another man and King was raised by his maternal grandmother Elnora Farr in Kilmichael Mississippi. King Grew up singing in the gospel choir at Elkhorn Baptist Church and at the age of 12 he purchased his first guitar for $15.00. At the age of 18th, King left his town to work as a tractor driver and play and play guitar performing at area churches.
Education:
King went to a large school in a place called Lexington Mississippi, but most of his early schooling was in a place called Kilmichael where he lived with his grandmother Elnora Farr.
Contributions and Recognitions:
Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him # 6 on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all times. BB King contribute to the society as one of the most important African Americans in the music area, he obtain many awards for many years. From 1980’s onward he has continued to maintain a highly visible and active career, appearing on numerous television shows and performing.
King has remained friendly with the Bush Family and in 1990 was awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts by George H. W. Bush.
