Foods and Nutrition Excursion to Eko Hotel & Suites
All the 17 SS1 and SS2 students of foods and nutrition as well as Mrs.Obi and Mrs.Linda leave school at around 9:20 am . We arrive at Eko hotel and suites at around 9:45 and were welcomed by Mr.Mawoye Bolorundur , the senior personnel officer of Eko Hotel and suites . Mr.Mawoye told us a brief history about Eko hotel and suites . It is a worldwide 5 star hotel located in one of the finest areas in Lagos , that is , Victoria Island . The hotel was registered as a public liability company in 1972 and it commenced business when Eko gardens opened in 1976 . It is managed by Eko hotels limited. Eko suited launched on 1st march , 2004 . There are 654 rooms in the whole Eko family . There are 88 rooms in Eko suites , 118 rooms in Eko gardens , and 448 rooms in the main hotel . There are 1050 staff members in the hotel. We learned that there’s a new hotel they are building called Eko signature with 172 rooms . In Eko hotel , there are 9 signature outlets . Namely : The Kuramo sports cafe , Calabash bar , Casa chianti , Pool bar , Lagoon breeze , Steak house , Ocean pearl , Ocean delight , and sky restaurant. The hotel has 6 major departments which are , The food & beverage department , maintenance department , control & accounts department , admin & general department , front office department and house keeping . We were then taken on a tour around the hotel by a lovely Mrs.Dalila . She took us to the Eko convention centre where various artists performed (including Chris Brown) . At about 5000 people can be seated at the convention centre very pleasantly . We then moved to the kitchen which is located right behind the convention centre . The kitchen was very large & exquisite in a corridor shaped style . We met with the head of the kitchen staff , who showed us how the equipments were being used & handled . He told us that you can cook for about 5000 people at the same time in the kitchen , It was
