Grade 8 Graduation Speech Example
Grade 8 Graduation Speech

Hello, graduating class of 2012! Good evening and welcome to all the parents and families who have came to this graduation ceremony today. Our parents are the people who know us the best in the whole world, even if that seems hard to believe, it's true. They've helped us become the people we are today, and they've done a great job. After all, we wouldn’t be here without them. So, thank you, parents. Today, June, 26th, 2012, is the day that we, as a class, are going to graduate the eighth grade. Of course, we all know that. But do we really understand what it all means? The definition of graduation is to complete a class or course of study. That’s it, the original definition of graduating. To me, graduation means more than that. It means growing, it means changing, and it means moving on. Today, the ceremony might seem like it's all happening too fast, or, it might seem like it's never going to end, but all our lives we'll remember it, and that's what counts. My two years of middle school have been a time to remember, I’ve learned a lot during my time in middle school, and these memories are what we are going to remember for the rest of our lives. For me, it all started on the first week of September. All I saw was these big guys playing basketball and soccer and I was wondering whether or not I will be able to fit in. Everyone else was eagerly waiting for the first school bell to ring after like 3 months of summer while I was just standing there looking everywhere as if I was lost. Eventually, all of these started to change as I started to know people better. Thing was, they weren’t as furious or mean as I thought they might be. In the beginning of the school year, I used to nervously switch classes without actually knowing where to go, but now I am familiar with this school like all the others. I managed to develop many new skills and stuff during grade 7. Before I knew it, it was June, grade 7 ended, and to my

Imagine… you are getting all dressed up for that big day. You get anxious and scared because it’s the graduation for eighth grade. You get all dressed up and put on your gown and cap. Then you arrive at the school. You sit in the assigned seat and watch the children before you get up and shake hands. You feel your hands get clammy as you wait. You wait till you hear your name and realize that it’s your time to shine. You stand up and hear the creaking of the harwood on your shoes. Then you feel your hands and wipe them down, but when you get up there you shine like a supernova. Everyone's eyes are on you. You realize that it’s your time to show who you are and time to reflect on your legacy here. A legacy is what you leave behind for people…

During school when 7th period rolls around we stare at that clock waiting for the bell to go off. High school is a fun time and part of your life that you won’t want to let go. Not only do you want to leave, but the fear of graduation is holding you back. In the movies the seniors can’t wait to graduate, but in life it’s not like that we don’t want to graduate as it may seem. It just means that we have to grow up and not be so childish and immature. Summer went bye like it wasn't even there and by the time school started I was very depressed. The new school I was going to was Naperville North High School which was about ten times the size of my old school in Pennsylvania in size and in the number of students. In my school in Pennsylvania there were about twelve students in each class, here the number runs around thirty two. The school building was so big I had a lot of trouble getting to class on time let alone finding them in the building. The school wasn't what I was bothered by the most because it was the fact that I didn't have any social life and I was a social person. There were a lot of different groups of people at my new high school, it was tough for me to fit in and meet new people. Everyone just knew me as the new kid and didn't even bother to find out what my real name was. The first month of being the new kid is a very hard month of school. I knew no one who I had anything in common with and began to get terrible grades in…

Before I start with my speech, allow me to ask a very simple question. Have you guys ever complaint about your school, your teachers, or being a student? I bet almost 99.9% of you guys said yes. We actually complain a lot, over the smallest things and lack appreciation. And though this ceremony recognizes our efforts, it also recognizes and pays homage to the dedication of our parents and our teachers. We would not have been able to accomplish this much without their help. So today, in honor of all the students, thank you. You know, I never expected to be standing up here but here I am, giving this speech and probably doing a terrible job at it because if you couldn’t tell, I’m pretty nervous. But thanks to NAMS, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and onto this stage in front of all you wonderful people. Succeeding from middle school is no easy task, looking back it surprises me that I even made it this far. A famous author, Theodore Roosevelt, once said, “A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a collage education he may steal the whole rail road.” Even though we have a while to get a collage education, we’ve made it here, to the end of 8th grade. Just like a rail road the train has to be set on a good track, just like our education. So far for this 8th grade class, our tracks have been fantastic ever since we first started our journey. Our first stop was 6th grade. New building, new people, and it were a whole new environment. New fears emerged and I remember feeling like a fish out of the sea. The year went by and our next stop was 7th grade, which the teachers have been preparing us for. We came back much more confident than the year before. We looked down at the 6th graders and asked ourselves, “Were we that short just last year?” And by the end of 7th grade, we were on our way to 8th grade. The year started off at a sprint and it seems to have left many of us still trying to catch our breath but 8th grade is also the…

Good evening everyone; teachers, faculty, family, friends, and the Walkerville graduating class of 2008! Wow. This day arrived so quickly – this final high school farewell seemed so distant, but it snuck up on us before we knew it. School is tricky like that; one hour and fifteen minutes can feel as long as “”, while the end of the school year can come around as fast as “Brandon Holland running the 200 meter dash. The other three years went by quickly, but none accelerated as much as this final school year. And what an amazing time it has been, Walkerville – from grade nine to now, the experiences have been unforgettable, and small wonder, considering how incredible this school is and the amazing students that make up this graduating class. There is no other school like Walkerville. it is the best high school in Windsor Essex county. Walkerville is in its own class altogether - When I look at this graduating class, I see a group of outstanding young adults. I see so much respect, acceptance, and just all around an extremely classy group of guys and gals. The talent here, especially in this senior year is phenomenal. This senior student body is made up of simply amazing actors, athletes, artists, dancers, writers, photographers, singers, really smart people, and musicians. But at Walkerville, the talent never stops at one category. To just name a few, athletes take art and dance classes, dancers play bassoon, artists sing, musicians participate in extreme stunts such as the four man piggyback, swimmers play piano, businessmen play broomball, historians write toxic love poems, and if you’re a male dancer, then you’re a hero in general. Moreover, this graduating class is a stellar example of how extraordinary ability can be combined with good character and school spirit. This senior year has constantly shown love for their school, simply by getting involved in any way possible. Helping out at events such as frosh day…

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…

Today, as a class, we are graduating the middle school, taking another huge step on the path of our life, moving on to a whole new world - high school. Where everything that we do matters and leads up on to our future. But here we go again, starting at the bottom as freshmen. Graduating just doesn’t me completing school, and celebrating. To me, graduating means growing, changing as a whole person, becoming mature, and moving on. All the educational things we learnt has a huge impact on that, but we also changed as people with all the experiences we had with our peers, teachers, and even school activities, such as field trips. Our three years of middle school have been a life changing experience, and we will all carry those amazing memories and experiences with us for not only high school, but our whole lives, not with some diploma or report card.…

Hi, my name is Chapin Benway and I would like to thank you all for coming to our 8th grade Continuation Ceremony. I am honored to be presenting to you tonight as one of the valedictorians of the 8th grade class at Homestake Peak. When I transferred to Minturn Middle School in 6th grade, I was very apprehensive about starting a new school where I didn’t know anyone. However, there was no need for me to be worried. All of the students and staff welcomed me and made me feel as if I had always been a part of the community. Throughout the past three years we have all formed close friendships and created many memories. Whether it was normal classes or various fieldwork expeditions, we all formed a bond through these experiences that is irreplaceable. As a class we have worked hard to prepare ourselves for high school. We all have accomplishments to be proud of, such as 2,000 hours of community service. We have worked hard to exemplify our community traits and keep our grades up. Even though some of us may be going to different high schools or even moving out of state, we will always be connected. I would like to thank my peers for giving me a great middle school experience.…

Finally graduation day is here. For more than 5 years I’ve been anticipating for this day to come. First I put on my le chaetae vest, shirt, pants, and belt. All the days I practiced putting on my cap and gown, on the real day it just didn’t feel the same. Next I put my Stacy Adam shoes on with the gleam on the side. I packed my cap and gown and I headed out. On my way down, I saw my mom and dad had big smiles on their faces. I really didn’t say anything I just kept walking.…
