Mandatory Military Service
Delivery Outline
Topic: Mandatory Military Service After High school 1-2 YEARS
• Thesis –Mandatory military service in the United States should be considered because it will provide economic and social benefits to those people who are serving as well as create a benefit for the general public as well as nation as a whole.
• First if you take people out of the economy cause they’re serving there will be more jobs open for those who have already passed the their required year or two of required service, because the public demand would not change.
• In order to clothe, feed, train etc the additional soldiers the fed government would need to spend money on the company which makes their uniform, they will need to buy food form another company which would help spur the economy.

• While in the army people receive training beyond just shooting, combat, physical training . After 12-24 months someone may have worked as a mechanic, paramedic, electronics maintenance, or tons of other skills that would be of use to them in the once they have served there time.
• They can now get a job doing what they were doing in the service.

• By serving people would probably have a greater sense that they are part of the country. Having served you feel more that it is your country. You need at least a GED or preferably a high school diploma.

• Our current army is a roughly around 2.3 million if you add a draft the size will increase and that will help serve the national interest of security .

• The Constitution says "provide for the common defense" technically with this mandatory service they will be backing up the constitution.

• If we had this and bigger army, maybe we could have had more people in national guard to help with natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.

• Also, for those who prefer state service instead of just military.

• If people don't want to be in the

Military Units have had a tremendous impact on history since the beginning of time. They protect and defend sovereign states. These military units often lack the numbers to protect their country. This has created a large debate over a military draft. There are two sides, those for and those against. The debate over the draft is endless. Great points can be made from either side of the argument over the draft, but the there is a more logical solution to resolve this issue: the U.S draft should be reinstated.…

I do not agree with the reinstitution of a military draft. In 1973 the military draft was lifted in the United States and with good reason. The United States should not rely on a draft to fill military vacancies but rely on recruitment. It is true that the military offers incentives and luxuries that some civilians could not afford otherwise such as food, shelter, and medical care. However, they are just that, incentives. The military is an option and should remain that way. Many enlist for different reasons, some with economical reasons, others with strong political urges, but they enlist out of their own desires, beliefs, and more importantly, free will. Some see the military as a way of life; others see it as the only way to educate themselves in a society where education is valued so highly. With rising tuition costs, many enlist in the reserves as a guarantee for their degree. College is costly and even with the aid of tuition assistance and can leave a graduate drowning in debt. These are all choices all college bound 18-25 year olds make and some just do not have the luxury of choosing.…

If we do a draft then we might end up in more wars because if we have a big enough army then a lot of countries will see us as a threat and will be more likely to attack. If our army is to big then we might be tempted to Attack more often which will put us in more wars. If certain countries try to be our allies because of this so they might turn on us at any moment because they don't like us and only joined with us because of our might. If there are more wars then there will be more deaths which will mean that there will be more people who are becoming depressed do to loss of loved one. If this where to happen then drug usage could go up a lot because that will be how some people will cope with losing some one they love. We might become a powerful country, but the power will com at a cost because we will be attacked more and more. Currently the military has 321,368,864 people. If we do have a draft then the number will be a lot higher which is not always…

I do not believe that the United States should institute in the practice of requiring people to serve in the military. While it would be very loyal to the United States, I think people should have the rights to choose their own career and not be forced into something they have no interest in. Also with so many people being forced into the military for one or more years, other jobs would not have people to fill up positions, important jobs such as police officers, doctors, teachers, or even people in entertainment. Which would really change up the economy.…

Being a member of the US military is considered one of the most, if not the most, patriotic titles a person can have in connection with this country. Serving in the military allows one to develop a sense of integrity and direction that reflects the American spirit. You, dear reader, may have family and/or friends who actively serve or have served as US military personnel. Maybe you are or have been an active member yourself. If so, your service is admired.…

In some countries, every young person must serve two years of military service. The general public in the United States feels that we should allow that in our country while other people disagree. A two-year period of military service should be mandatory for all young adults, but making the devotion to serving that time in the military should be each individual’s decision. Personally, young adults should be able to live their lives of how they want it, and other mature people should be able to volunteer for the military. Each individual should be able to make their own choices in life and not be forced to do something they strongly disagree with. Granting opportunities to young and mature people will help the military enlist a mature recruit, strengthen the military clan, and attract even more people to join in the military. We should be able to grant choices to the young and mature adults and respect their decision.…

Recruitment is a major problem in our armed forces. Even without this problem, the services are too weak to meet the needs of this century. Personally I don’t believe that the U.S. should make citizens serve in the military. I believe this because people should be able to choose what they want to do in life and what they want to study and what they want to make of themselves. Often people don’t even have the physical strength or abilities to join the military, or the mental state to serve. Yes, I know that our country needs protection but we need other things too.…
