This diet is focused less upon restrictions and more upon hitting recommended values of macronutrient and micronutrients. This automated system is advertised to provide specific ranges for these recommended values. Each customer will receive their macro’s updated weekly based upon a number of factors. It’s goal is to reduce the cost of flexible dieting coaching, making it more accessible to consumers. I believe this promotion was successful. The program seems very logical and at a price point of ten dollars per dollars per month can’t be beat. The creator is very credible in his profession and has had many other successful product releases. After a short three minute video, I want to know more about the product. If further research into the product were to confirm what the video depicts, I would strongly consider giving the product a try. Phil bravely states that he will not tell me what I want to hear; he seems to revel in his “I call it as I see it; I will tell you the truth” philosophy. Effective weight control will never be “quick and easy”, but that is “doable”. His book espouses a philosophy that is brilliant in its simplicity. He includes a wealth of self-analysis in the form of assessments, timelines, goal setting, readiness profiles and action plans. His book incorporates concrete details for daily planning and food action plans, which include a specific system of meal planning that is widely used by dietitians and health organizations. He describes a divided-plate system for meal planning: ¼ protein, ¼ starch, and ½ low-calorie, high-fiber plant-based food—fruits and vegetables.…

The Jenny Craig Program claims weight loss success due to the various short-term success stories. Like any weight loss program of course Jenny Craig works but only if one works it. For the most part the same cannot be said from majority about the long-term loss of a Jenny Craig dieter. If exercise is not implemented or healthy eating choices as well as portion control of everyday food items is not followed and learnt the weight will come off but only for a short time. Some positive points about the Jenny Craig diet, it teaches dieters in 3 levels. The first is how to eat the foods they want -- in small, frequent portions, the second level teaches how to increase their energy levels through simple activity, the third it teaches ways to build more balance into a dieters life in order to maintain weight loss and healthy diet. There are two Jenny Craig programs one is built around physical Jenny Craig centers the other is an at-home Jenny Direct program which offers information by telephone and mail. Another positive aspect about the program is they have several different levels of support, they have a 24/7-telephone line so their clients are able to get support when they need it as well as online support; they also offer peer-support discussion groups. In order for Jenny Craig to succeed a dieter needs to use their system to its fullest potential and one must not plan on being on the diet for an extended period of time and always begin with an end in…

First I had to determine my daily requirements by using a calorie calculator. I was able use the weight loss calculator to determine the time and calorie deficit required to reach my target weight. For my optimal weight loss I reduced my calories to 15-20% below maintenance. The health/nutrition problem that I will be targeting will be my weight. The other problems will be affected by the weight which would be blood pressure, risk of getting diabetes, low energy, depression, etc. Four nutritional or physical exercise goals that I have are to lose at least 100 pounds, lower blood pressure, increase energy and confidence and lower risk of obtaining any other health problems such as diabetes. The actions that will be taken to meet each goal are to obtain a membership to an exercise facility, obtain a membership with a trainer, and work with trainer on an exercise plan and a nutritional plan as well. The anticipated setbacks or difficulties and approaches for overcoming them are the temptations to eating unhealthy foods in which I will remove myself from the situation so those temptations will not be available, loss of interest when it comes to actually going to working out either alone or with trainer in which I will change plan slightly to keep motivated enough to keep going. What I see as outcomes by which to measure success is the way that clothes are fitting will help determine the success of weight loss and weigh-in once a week to determine weight loss success. Evidence of the Plan’s effectiveness in addressing the identified problem or need will be the main piece of evidence in which will be my overall personal feelings and looks after goal is reached. Evaluation of potential health risks that may develop if the plan is not implemented is if I don’t follow through with this goal of losing the weight needed in order to improve my health then the risks involved could be higher blood pressure, end up diabetes, possible heart attack, depression worsens, etc. There are many different ways that my plan may be adjusted if there is a time when I am not physically capable of following through. I could step down the cardio workouts that I am currently on now. At this time I do between 30 to 45 minutes cardio Monday through Friday in the early…

More importantly, the ChooseMyPlate.gov website provides practical information to individuals, health professionals, nutrition educators, and the food industry to help consumers build a healthier diet with resources and tools for dietary assessment, nutrition education, and other user-friendly nutrition information. As Americans are experiencing epidemic rates of overweight and obesity, the online resources and tools can empower people to make healthier food choices for themselves, their families, and their children. However, as I kept on taking a tour of the website I came across this information that in December 2011, USDA released its new SuperTracker, a comprehensive online tool that consumers can use to personalize and manage their dietary and physical activity choices. Also, 6 months since its launch, there are over 750,000 registered SuperTracker users. That made me realized thet some people really care about their well-being.…

The program will take place once every other month in each working sector during some workers’ one hour lunch break, while other government workers (e.g. teachers) will stay after work for a maximum of one and a half hours to participate in the education and demonstration session. Each session will consist of a lesson which will change month-to-month, for example: vegetables for January then meat and meat substitutes for March, or protein for May then fats for July. In order to meet all the requirements and demand of the program, a team of experts will host each meeting. This team will consist of either one registered dietitian or nutrition consultant and a group of nutrition student volunteers enrolled at a local college (university or community). As the registered dietitian or nutrition consultant teaches the lesson to the employees, the students will demonstrate how to put the lesson into actual practice by cooking short, easy meals. These meals will represent healthy foods that government employees can afford, will have the time to cook, and contribute significant nutritional…
