Nationality: India Today's modern India in a way is very much indebted to Jamsetji Tata, known as "The Father of Indian Industry" Ratan Tata (great-grandson of Jamsetji Tata) who became the successor of Tata Group and gave a glorious expression to each of his dreams. He was the chairman of the group. from 1991-2012He stepped down as the chairman on 28 December 2012 and now holds the position of Chairman Emeritus of the group which is an honorary and advisory position.
Education: He completed his B.S. in architecture with Structural Engineering from Cornell University in 1962, and the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School in 1975.
Personal life and interests: Ratan Tata is a very simple man, rarely features in the society glossies. He has never been married. He sometimes likes to fly his private jet himself. He likes to wear Hermès ties and matching handkerchiefs. Tata has always been values-driven. These values continue to direct the growth and business of Tata companies.
