Well for starters I guess I should start by telling you about my freshman year in high school. Well when I was a freshman in high school I didn’t go to Pinecrest, in fact I didn’t even go to a normal high school! The school I went to included 6th grade all the way up to 12th grade. The school I went is an alternative school. The name of the school is Pinckney, so I’m not really sure what advice to give the incoming freshman class of Pinecrest. So I’m just going to give advice about how to survive and succeed being a freshman at Pinckney! Before I start giving advice I should explain what Pinckney is. Pinckney is a school for students from all the middle schools and high schools in Moore County that regular schools just couldn’t handle or help. So if you’re ever sent there, this is what you need to know to survive and succeed at Pinckney! First off, there is a uniform that must be worn at all time that includes, a plain navy blue collared shirt, kakis, sneakers with white or grey shoe strings, and a belt. Your shirt must be tucked in at all times and the only jackets/sweatshirts that are allowed must be plain, hoodless, and white, grey, or navy blue in color. Now the advice I give to those sent to Pinckney is as follows: During your first month and a half try not to draw attention to yourself. Second there’s not as many girls as there are guys there, so ladies take it from me when a guy asks you out most of the time it’s because they’ve most likely dated every girl there and they just see you as fresh meat. I don’t really have any advice for the guys except for this, don’t treat the girls that go there like dirt because those girls are the kind of girls that will get up and fight back. Now to succeed in the classes my advice is to concentrate, stay focused, and try your hardest not to get distracted. And believe me there are plenty of distractions at Pinckney. But if you believe in yourself, you’ll be able to ignore each and every distraction. Well that’s all the advice I’ve got for you. Peace!!! Brittany Dick 4th Period 1/18/14
