Volleyball is a popular sport which easy attracts the interest of persons. It can be played at anytime, at any place. All that is needed is a ball, a playing area, a basic knowledge of the game and a net which can be represented by a line or even be imaginary.
Volleyball’s popularity is widely extended and is now an energetic sport known for being played at the beach; both on sand and in the water.
The following project is one on the game of Volleyball. It contains information on the game’s history, rules of the game as well as it shows the playing area and explains its dimensions.
It is my hope that the completion of this project will do what is stated above and more.
Ancient:
The game of volleyball, originally called “mintonette”, was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan in Holyoke USA. William Morgan, who was a graduate of the Springfield College of the YMCA, designed the game to be a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis and handball. It was originally designed to provide exercise and a form of recreation for people of all ages and the first volleyball net was borrowed from a tennis court and was only 6’6″ high and was played by 4-6 players. Since Volleyball was originally a recreational Sport it was played anywhere, with a ball, a playing area and a net strung across the middle being the only requirements.
Modern:
The game has developed rapidly. Not only have there been several changes to the way the sport is played but many Organizations have been set up for the proper functioning of the sporting events.
