There are a few patterns that I noticed in the Chrysalids the one that really jumped out at me was the idea of “normal” the entire story is based around the idea of “normal” and gods image. It's repeated all throughout the book, Sophie gets her foot stuck in the rocks she doesn’t want her shoe to be removed because she fears David will think of her having six toes as something abnormal, in Davids house where there are no paintings on the walls instead phrases from the bible about gods divine image and if any one deviates from them they are to be known as Satin spawn, and how civilization is divided, people of gods image live a good life protected from people with deviations who live as out casts…
Overall my essay score was really good (7). I managed to do a good job writing my introduction and thesis. I successfully did this by just copying parts of the prompt into it I also think this is what. My organization got a decent score of 2.I struggled when it came to evidence but I feel I was misjudged. I thought…

My total score was a 16 (near the 75th percentile), which means my anxiety level is about average.…
The prohibition movement in the United States was very successful during the era of progressive reform, from 1900 to 1919. This is because of the social composition of the prohibitionists, their motives, strategy, and pressure-group tactics, and the relationship of prohibitionism to progressive reform. The prohibitionists attacked saloons with a passion, they appealed to women's rights, and they tried every mean possible to keep their areas dry.'…
My score on the P.A.T.C.H assessment was 78.5/100. I agree with this score and the interpretation provided for this score as I know I am comfortable with computers but still have some things I need to learn. I know how to proficiently use Microsoft as a whole (including Word, Powerpoint, etc.), find just about anything on the internet…
I went to St. Michael School from Kindergarten through Eighth grade, so when it came time to leave for high school, I was not excited for the change. St. Michael was especially small in regards to student population. We had just under three hundred students split between all nine grades. That left roughly twenty to thirty kids per class. I was extremely used too this small environment and not exactly looking forward to the terrors of high school towering over me nor the thought of being lost in the sea of students. Over the years I was extremely imbedded in my academics. I had straight A’s for my entire time at St. Michael. I received the academic achievement award at Eighth grade promotion for having the highest GPA in my class. Despite this, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to live up…
My score was 45 out of 75. The assessment score indicates that I am not as good of a listener as I think I am. The area I need to focus on is learning how to be more attentive when listening. It also says that I need to focus more on a person when they are talking and allow them to finish their ideas without interruption.…

The French Diet, French Women Don’t Get Fat, and Mastering the Art of French Eating are all titles found in American bookstores. It seems our society has an obsession with the French and the way they eat. It is also how author Mary Maxfield begins her article “Food as a Thought”.…

My 9th grade post score was 18 because 5 push-ups wasn’t that good and I just wanted to get a better score and my goal was 20 but I got rally close to it. My 10th grade baseline was 34 because in the beginning of 10th grade I started to rally pracice my push-ups skills becaue I knew that could do better than 18 push-ups. I went down on my post test score because my arms were sore from the 12 minute swim and my arms were getting tired. My 9th grade baseline and post scores for the sit & reach was 8”inches because even though I wasn’t flexible I tried to keep the have the same score for both times. My 10th grade baselline score 8” becasue I wanted to kepp the same score as my 9th grade year and also because I did not think that I could do better. My post test score was 9 and this is because I worked on my flexibility on my own and I wanted to see if I could get a better…
Everyone wants good grades throughout their years in school, mainly in high school. I am more of a math and science person, other subjects like history and government. Topics like politics, the constitution, the United States Government, political parties and anything else having to do with Government class I had no interest in when I signed up for classes. I know this is something that I should be keeping up to date on because of the upcoming election and everything that changes with the government. The spring of my sophomore year I was looking for different classes to take, I saw AP Government. I thought I could do well in that class, I was motivated to learn something new and excel at something I was not very interested in. The first day of junior year came quickly. Then the first AP government test came even quicker. I studied the night before for hours thinking positive thoughts and finding funny ways to remember different answers. Going into the test I thought I was ready, but when I saw the test I froze. Thinking different thoughts like “When did we learn this?” or “Why did I take this class?”. I pushed all the negative thoughts to the side and completed the test to the best of my ability. The day we got our test back I looked down and about cried. I had never done that bad on a test.…
It has been over four years since I was enrolled in college, and even longer since I’ve attended any type of English or writing class. So when I decided to get my education back in order, I went to the testing center where I took the (CPT) or the College Placement Test to find out where my education levels stood. I found it very difficult when I got my test results, and saw that my English portion of the test had scored low. This meant that I would have to start with the 0990 class. I had heard the horror stories about the English 0990 class, and how it was for the uneducated and some say “dumb” people. But now that I have taken the 0990 class, it’s nowhere near what I thought it would be. I’m grateful for taking this class and learning the simple steps to prefect my writing skills.…
In her op-ed piece, It Doesn’t Test For Success, (Creighton), Joanne V Creighton, PHD asserts that standardized test scores such as the SAT’s are no longer useful in predicting the potential successes of today’s students. Dr. Creighton, who at the time was President of Mount Holyoke College, cited the errors in scoring on the SAT for approximately 4,000 students. She further stated that while the test may have made sense when first developed, it no longer presents an accurate portrait of the potential of today’s college-bound students. While Dr. Creighton presents some valid points, I do not believe we should completely disregard the value of the SAT’s. This is a complex issue with many things to consider and, as the saying goes, let’s not…
