4-H Club Reflection
Over the past ten years, I have had the life altering privilege of being a member of the youth organization 4-H. Through 4-H I have learned a plethora of skills from sewing a coat to training a beef calf to lead and everything in between. Most importantly, 4-H has shown me the value of caring for people in the little ways, leadership skills, and community involvement by completing community service projects. After completing various community service projects with my 4-H club, one of my favorite projects was baking Christmas treats for senior citizens. My 4-H club and I adore baking the different types of cookies and treats, but also equally enjoy hand delivering the treats to the senior citizens. In particular, I remember the look of disbelief

From working on these three assignments over the past few weeks, I learned a great deal of information dealing with some issues pertaining to both One-Mile and the Chico Co-op. From doing research on One-Mile, I learned that there are a lot of problems concerning the homeless issue and cleanliness of the park. The issues dealing with the Co-op were mostly centered around their relocation situation. At the moment, relocation is the Co-op’s main goal but they are experiencing problems with finding the ideal, sustainable location that will keep their users satisfied. Finding out the specifics of these problems was quite challenging. I had to look into each source even further to find more information with both place’s problems. The research methods…

This project taught me how to perform research and collect needed information by analyzing available literature and interviewing involve parties. It provided me with valuable knowledge about patient experience in the hospital and ways to improve it. His project also showed me the importance of team work. Because in order to provide quality care and improve patient safety all health care providers need to work as a team. I will use knowledge that I gained from this experience in my everyday practice. It will help met to analyze my nursing practice and care we provide and look for the solution to improve it. Nurses, as patient advocate, should always insure that patients receive best care possible and that in the end we see positive affect of…

My task was to look after the Southern European and Emerging Markets and organise and book familiarization trips for them. I was looking after and managing the budget allocated for the fam trips as well I had to make sure that the experience delivered to those tour operators was matching every specific market expectations. It was also down to me to match the appropriate Scottish suppliers with the right delegates (I had to extensively got to know the companies’ profiles to know what sort of products/services they were looking for/selling to their clients). Therefore, I had to learn how to skilfully negotiate beneficial conditions for myself without compromising the quality of the delegates’ experience and still making sure that the Scottish trade will benefit from their visit and that each delegate will find a potential partner that they will then work closely with. I also had to work closely with my colleagues who are in charge of these markets to find out what the delegates who are attending the trip are looking for to make sure that the trip is tailor-made to them and that I introduce right buyers to appropriate Scottish suppliers.…

In my current position, as a house supervisor, I work with five other nurses to provide 24 hour coverage within our facility. As a group, we all have varying degrees of experience and range in age from the youngest member, in her mid-20s, to our oldest member who is 64 years old. Working within this multigenerational group has led to some difficulties in communication and expectations among members as I will expand upon further.…

In the recent group activity, I was a member in a group of four. I had been absent from class when the groups were allocated and the two members present were given the task of choosing each of our roles. I felt they chose the more difficult roles for themselves, the introduction and conclusion, although I base that on the knowledge of my own strengths and weaknesses, with no knowledge of theirs. They assigned the work conflict to me, which I thought was a logical choice, given my occupation as a police officer.…

The community I chose to help was Black Hawk Middle School. I chose this to help the middle school. I did this by helping the students learn how to get ready for high school. My partner I, Shawn, went to Black Hawk on the 29th 30th and the 31st and we talk to the students about high school. My expectation was to go to Black Hawk and talk to the kids about what I did wrong when I was in 8th grade and how it reflect on my high school year and tried to get them to look at 8th grade. I wanted to reflect and see that what they're doing in 8th grade will help them for high school. I pick helping Black Hawk Middle School because I went there as a middle school student and I wanted to help the teacher that were telling me to get ready for high school. I thought if the student hear from 9th grade student maybe they will start getting ready if there weren't already.…

Grade 6: In my opinion the sole purpose of middle school was so that all of the adolescent miscreants could be forced into one awkward prison. The proof was in the cafeteria, a minefield of strange social customs and noisy kids who seemed to enjoy nothing more than screwing up another person’s day. At least those were my thoughts when I first entered the overly powerful axe scented school. But at the table where I now sat around with friends new and old in all directions, my opinion was quickly morphing. Sure, most people were immature and concerned only with themselves, but here I was laughing along with them, perhaps I was simply pretentious and carping to see the flaws in the school.…

The first time I went to the Elks club, I was with my grandmother and we went for dinner, and I ended up learning how to ballroom dance. After dinner, an older man came up to me and asked me to dance. After responding that I don't know how to, he taught me and I had a great time. The man was ninety-five years old and one of the best ballroom dancers I had ever seen. I truly believe that the spirit of the Elks is what has kept him able to do the thing he loved, and is a wonderful place to spend time. Now every time I visit my grandparents, we visit the Elks and it is one of the best things we do together each trip. The way that the members of the Elks club remember and respect a simpler time in history, one that values such a beautiful skill…

On a gloomy February day in 2013, I was set to meet my high school counselor for the first time. Small Group Reflection

For our smaller small group challenge we were given a team building activity to help us develop our group cohesion, communication and leadership qualities. Our task was that we had to create an innovative product that students want or need, using at least five items amongst a variety of miscellaneous items given by the group that created the task. Once we created our product we had to come up with a name and a description of it. Once that was done we had to figure out a marketing scheme, either an advertisement, a sales pitch, or a speech for example. We then had to use that idea to promote and sell our product to a stranger on campus. The final product we created and promoted was study buddy for students named Tux. Our study buddy was made out of a box where students could keep their study supplies such as pencils and sharpeners. We also made a slot in the back where we wrote motivational quotes on cue cards, that way while students are stressed and studying, they can pick out cards to give them motivation. Lastly the party aspect of Tux was that we attached two cups to the side of him that students could use for their alcohol. We used a sales pitch to sell him to a couple of strangers we approached in Hagey Hall.…
