The planners for EBASA Radio station recognized that the station must evolve and diversify in order to move forward, to remain viable, and to attract new different audience and supporters. These factors drew the attention of the Board to have a clear goals and a road map for reaching there when commence broadcasting. This has led to the preparation of a sound strategic plan. The strategic plan is a five-year plan that will clearly state the goals and objectives, strategies, action steps and timelines for achieving these goals. This planning process will symbolize the station’s commitment to a future that will be full of new opportunities for evolution and expansion.
1.1 Introduction
Radio CUC is a partnership firm owned and controlled by five able partners. It is registered under the Incorporated Private Partnership Act 1962, Act 152. Therefore, Radio CUC is an independent, commercial station which seeks to enrich the lives of people in the Brong Ahafo Region. The station will embrace diversity, tolerance and freedom of expression, and provide a platform for the exchange of ideas in a democratic environment that is respectful of each individual’s cultural and political perspectives.
The station will be broadcasted on the frequency of 108.2 FM from the Catholic University College of Ghana campus at Fiapre in the Sunyani West District. The station will be operated at the fourth floor of the new hostel behind the restaurant. The station has rented an office in Sunyani where it will attend to the needs of both customers and listeners.
The station’s on-air name is Radio CUC and it jingle will be Your rhythm to life. The name is drawn from the station’s location, although it is private owned station separated from the university. The owners chose Radio CUC with the idea of promoting and advertising the university as they are products of the university. Radio CUC will broadcast every day of the year, 21 hours per day on air and also will be
